Zoom H6 All Black 6-Input / 6-Track Portable Handy Recorder with Single Mic Capsule (Black)
Key Features
  • Live/Location Recording & Podcasting
  • Swappable X/Y Stereo Mic Capsule
  • 4 x XLR-1/4" Mic/Line Inputs with Pads
  • Fast, User-Friendly Operability
While the original gray H6 is bundled with two mic capsules and premium accessories, the Zoom H6 All Black portable handheld recorder features a sleek black finish and a single mic capsule, making ideal for bands, multi-instrumentalists, and podcasters who don't immediately need the extras. With its X/Y stereo microphone capsule, six versatile mic/line inputs, and up to 6-track recording, the H6 All Black is both user-friendly and easily expandable.

Like other H-Series Handy recorders such as the H4n Pro and H5, you can hold it in your hand, attach it to a mic stand or tripod, or mount it to a camera (shoe mount available separately); the H6 All Black packs an impressive array of features into a rugged, rubberized body that's more than ready to meet the varied demands of musicians, content creators, videographers, and sound designers.

From the intuitive, tactile controls to the plentiful battery life and powerful audio processing functions, the H6 All Black is well equipped for producing pristine audio for complete musical arrangements, independent films, and panel podcasts. It can supply phantom or plug-in power for condenser mics, or accept direct connections from synths, keyboards, drum machines, or +4 dB line-level mixers. No matter the source, selectable auto-recording and pre-recording ensure that you'll never miss the start of a take, and stereo safety track recording provides duplicate tracks at a lower level to avoid distortion.

Can Zoom H5/H6 monitor both {mic inputs + Windows ...

Can Zoom H5/H6 monitor both {mic inputs + Windows 10} simultaneously? I'd like to use XLR mics in my remote (virtual) presentations/meetings. I want to hear both myself (from the mic) and other attendees (system sound from Windows). In USB/interface mode, does the H5/H6 monitor jack simultaneously output (mix?) both my mic and Windows system sounds? Is that standard "interface" behavior? Do the H5 and H6 behave the same in this regard? (P.S. I wish to avoid "looping" or "overdubbing" or 3rd party mixers.) Thank you all kindly in advance.
Asked by: Jeffrey
Yes, but most video meeting software do not give you an option to monitor your own microphone signal.

Can I use this to record and livestream at the same time? I'd like to use the built in mixer to control the inputs, while recording the audio. And us the output to my ATEM mini for a live stream. Possible?
Asked by: Steve
Yes, you can use the H6 to connect your mics and use the built-in mixer to control the inputs while also recording to an SD card. The 3.5mm headphone jack on the H6 functions as a line out which you can connect to an audio input on the ATEM mini.

Is there a Zoom model that will ALLOW external mic with a 3.5 mm jack WITHOUT bypassing on-board mics? So 2 mics sources for recording (to a dSLR)?
Asked by: Andrew
No. The 3.5mm jack will always disable the onboard mics. You can connect your 3.5mm into the XLR with an adapter, like the RODE VXLR, Use the VXLR+ if the mic requires plug in power.

Is the black rubberized body prone to degrading and getting sticky, as happens with the grey H6, the H4N, etc.?

No, the body is no longer rubberized. The material also was changed on the H4n Pro and H6 several months before they were discontinued.

Does this still come with a small plastic see-through case for the recorder?
Asked by: Heba
When I bought the H6 is Sept 2020, it came with interchangeable mic modules and a nice compact black case for everything. When I bought the all-black H6 in Nov 2020, it came only with the X/Y mic module and no case. I would recommend contacting Zoom support to determine if a case is included now.
