Even lighting for night photography

As a night photographer who loves to use illumination to light up my foreground subjects, I'm always on the lookout for something great.
Upon receiving the Luxli Fiddle light I was impressed with the size, slightly bigger than my iPhone, the sleek design. It's very clean looking and comes with a nice carrying case. Love the USB charging. My other lights did not have charging abilities. The ability to not have to carry batteries is very appealing to me. I charged it up and then decided to mess with it a bit and found that I can turn the light on from 1% to 100% and it had various color temps as well. So, in reality I can fine tune the light to fit any situation I may find myself in.
Out in the field I did some testing and found that 1-2% was the right amount to illuminate my foregrounds. While the light does an amazing job without the diffuser, the light is even more natural and even across the scene with the diffuser on. I've found this is my preferred way to shoot. The ease of adjusting the brightness and tones makes this light perfect for my uses.
In the image I am including you can see how much just 1% helps on a moonless night. The soft even light that the diffuser provides, helps to not have any hot spots in my foregrounds which is important in keeping the post processing time down.
For my shooting and how I use the light there isn't much more to say other than the people I am shooting with are loving the light as much as I am and we are currently not using our older lights anymore.
The slim design makes it easy to fit into any bag or carry on a belt with the hip pouch (purchased separately)
I've used the light a handful of times and the light lasts all night on a single charge...in fact I've never had it run out of power. This is possibly because it's used at such a low intensity.
This is now my primary light for all my night shoots...
If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and I'll be happy to help.
*In exchange for my honest review, I was given this light to use and test.
Incredible lights for weddings

I'm a solo wedding videographer and have been looking for a way to downsize my lighting kit to something minimal and discrete which would also give me the advantage of more easily traveling with my kit on destination weddings. I was normally hauling a set of Amaran 200ds around in an additional pelican case. Just a pain finding power source and positioning full sized lights. Most people are using Apurture 60X's or the like but still difficult to be nimble during weddings and move larger lights from speech areas to first dances, to cake cuttings etc. I've also gotten complaints before about the larger lights being bothersome to guests or too hot for guests. Because larger lights have to be placed further back and higher up from subjects you are automatically losing output to distance (inverse square law).
Picked two of these up and have been loving them. Shot the following videos (screenshots) at approximately F2.8, ISO 1500. Two lights set both at 100% for the speeches (one on person giving toast, one on the couple), cake cutting had one light at 100% for key and the other at 50% for fill. Dances had lights both at 100%.
For me the versatility and ability to position these lights in a matter of seconds has been a game changer and I like keeping them closer to my camera for quick access and maneuverability during the reception. 3.5 hours of battery life at 100% output is incredible. Quickly flick between color temp presets. Beautiful LCD. Fits in your pocket and roughly 4x brighter than an aperture MC.
I'm officially ditching the bigger lights and staying with these. Highly recommend.

Superb all-around light for professional use. Was easy to mount to the cam with a UURig-R007 monitor tilt bracket with cold shoe.

Fantastic little lights. The ability to set the output very low is the feature that mattered most to me. For low-light Milky Way photography this is essential. All the other features are motivating me to try some small video projects and some creative photography. The lights are very easy to use and the Luxli Composer app works well. My only complaint is that I have to Look for lights twice to connect, only a very small thing. I did have a problem with one of the pairs of lights that I purchased. The 1/4 threads were not formed correctly and I had to tap them out, hence the 4 stars.
Great addition to my kit!

I own other lights from this Norwegian manufacturer. After I saw a review of this light on YouTube by Andrew Lock of Gaffer and Gear, I knew I had to add this to my collection. Works flawlessly either by manual asjustment or by using the Bluetooth app. It is well constructed and worth what I paid for it.
Best Eyelight on the market

I have had the pleasure of using the Fiddle for just over a month now, but have to say it beats any other small LED I have tested, and I have tested most of them. Packs a serious punch, great battery life and super easy and fast to use. I even used it as a keylight, because why not!
Nice, but with flaws

These are really nice soapbox-sized lights. If you just want white light, there are cheaper options, such as Genaray Powerbank 96A - but if you want to add color accents, this is a great choice. You can carry them in your pocket and squeeze them into some tight spots.
Disregard manufacturer specs - they measure a tad under 200 lux at 1 meter at 5500 K, so they're mostly for close-up work.
That said, the lights have some flaws. First, even some fairly basic functionality, such as adjusting green / magenta tint or color intensity, require you to install a phone app. No real reason for it, so a bit of a jerk move. The app demands access to your location for some inexplicable reason, too (yuck!).
On Android, the app is also currently not fully functional. I tried on four different phones running Android 12, and the firmware upgrade function crashes on all. I hope they fix it, but for now, it's clear that they're paying more attention to the iPhone.
My final beef is that I purchased two units, and one arrived faulty. It has weird and sudden brightness and color jumps as you adjust the settings. I contacted the manufacturer, let's see how it goes...

The best camera light. I use it with my FX3 and the results are wonderful. Very easy to use.
