This durable aluminum mounting system includes a baseplate that is compatible with Manfrotto 577, 501, 504, and 701 tripods, a standard 15mm LWS rod clamp, two 15mm rods, and a sliding camera plate with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera mounting screws.
The baseplate receiver is mounted perpendicular to the tripod mounting base, allowing you to slide your camera left and right along the 15mm rods. The rods measure 7.9" in length and allow you to mount a variety of accessories such as mounting arms, a follow focus, or a lens support. The sliding camera plate mounts on the receiver and provides 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera mounting screws. The bottom of the baseplate provides 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod mounting threads that allow you to mount the entire system onto a dovetail plate, shoulder rig, or cage system.

I am unable to fit any matte box on my new Sony ...
I am unable to fit any matte box on my new Sony A7Siii. SallRig's baseplate will not separate the camera form the rods heigh enough to fit any affordable matte box from FilmCity or SmallRig. Does this Camvate plate adjust the ELEVATION to allow an 82mm lens to center in the matte box?
Sorry I flagged this as incorrect-- it's PARTIALLY correct-- the bottom plate and the top plate ARE at fixed distance. But the middle section carrying the rods- the topic of my question- actually SLIDES to adjust the distance between the camera and the rods! It works! My FilmCity Matt Box centers beautifully. Highly recommended, and available under several brands.
