Atomos ULTRASYNC BLUE Reviews

UltraSync Blue + Panasonic S1RII + Mavis

I was able to get a connection going between the camera and the Ultrasync, Camera and timecode needed firmware updates to work. I have some negative about the unit. 1. I am getting only 12+ hours of battery before it is dead. 2. even having this UltraSync on all the time and parring with iPhone or the Panasonic camera over BT, it can take a long time to resync the timecode. if the camera was off to change batteries, the timecode will be off for the time you had powered down the camera. there is no option to sync now! I was the syncing take anywhere from 30sec to 4min after powering on the camera.

Works with Fuji XH2S/2

With the recently released 5.10 firmware, it is now possible to jam-synch the Fuji XH2/S cameras to the Atomos Ultrasynch Blue Time Code generator. Bluetooth pairing between XH2/S with the Atomos is tricky - turn on the camera, go to TC SettingsTime Code Synch Setting Pairing Registration, and start the search. Turn on the UltraSynch Blue, go to Bluetooth settings, and start the search. The camera will appear on the Atomos display after a few seconds, select it. On the camera, a message will appear indicating a connection to the Atomos. Now the Atomos is registered with the camera and will appear in the registered devices section of the Bluetooth menu. Going forward turn on the Atomos, on the camera go toTC settingsTime Code Synch Settingsturn on the Connect to Atomos AirGlu BT for each session. To get time of day TC into the Atomos install the Ultra Synch Blue app' on your phone and jam the phone time to the Atomos. According to Fuji and Atomos documentation, it is possible to synch six cameras to the Ultra Synch Blue. I am shooting a documentary with multiple XH2S' and having frame-accurate matching time code is a huge benefit in editing. Thank you Fujifilm!!!!!!!

One answer in the Q&A says it can connect to only 1 at a time. The product description advertises it can connect and support up to 6 devices. This is confusing. Can someone clarify? I'm hoping to sync time code across three BMPCC4K cameras and three Zoom F2-BT audio recorders. Will this work?
Asked by: john
Hello John, The answer is 6, and thats because it is the limitation of BT. If you use the Ultrasync One, you can do much more because of the RF technology.

Can this be connected to a Red DSMC2 Gemini? I want to use the Zoom F3 Audio Recorder, but it is only Bluetooth.
Asked by: Thomas
Typically, the Atomos UltraSync BLUE Wireless Timecode Sync for AtomX SYNC and Ninja V (B&H# ATOMSYBL01US) would be connected not to the camera but to an external recorder such as a Ninja V with the Atomos AtomX SYNC (B&H# ATOMXSYNC1) addition for recording the video as it does not communicate directly with the camera. An example of a compatible device with a connection option to a camera would be the Atomos UltraSync ONE RF Timecode Sync for AtomX Sync and Ninja V (B&H# ATOMSYON01US): https://bhpho.to/3lgMUOW

We cannot comment as to why there are no reviews for this product, other than it is fairly new and that people are often more inclined to post reviews when they're not necessarily satisfied with a certain product. We can, however, report that we have not received any negative user feedback and no returns have been made with the specific complaint that the product did not work according to spec. Having said that, please note that this product is designed to specifically sync with AtomX SYNC and Ninja V.
