Atomos UltraSync ONE Overview

Sync timecode using genlock, LTC, or word clock between your cameras, audio recorders, smartphones, and other supported devices with the UltraSync ONE RF Timecode Sync from Atomos. The UltraSync ONE is a compact unit that provides timecode sync and can pair each source via RF signals with the Atomos AtomX SYNC for viewing on the Ninja V monitor. It features a bright OLED display for timecode and status information.

The UltraSync ONE features one SYNC BNC output that supports genlock to any supported camera, provides word clock signals to a sound recorder or mixer, and can provide LTC (linear timecode) to a supported LTC device. The BNC LTC port provides input and output of LTC only.

The ONE can also be used as a master or slave, or in standalone mode. It can sync frame-accurate timecode using RF signals by pairing with multiple timecode sync devices such as the AtomX SYNC, UltraSync BLUE, or other RF timecode sync devices over a long range of up to 656'. Once the ONE is synced with the device, timecode is embedded in the recorded files and can be recognized by industry-standard software and NLEs (nonlinear editors).

A USB Type-C cable is included to charge the ONE, which features a built-in 800mAh LiPo battery that lasts up to approximately 24 hours.

As of now this is a nice addition to my kit. Though, it isn’t simple to use, you have to go through many steps to set up but once that is done, it works great.

I did an 8 camera stream earlier this year and due to distances audio sync wasn't possible. I got the 3 kit of these and they connect wirelessly to my Ninja-V's, GoPro Hero 7's, Zoom F2's, wired connection to my Shogun's, FS7ii, and F8. They simplified my kit, would gladly buy again. Since purchasing I have used them on multiple Multicam streams as well as day to day with sync from mixers I work with. 2 issues I've had are when a sound mixer doesn't have a BNC output for TC, I just need to get the other cables, and when using the Blue to connect to the F2 takes a few takes to get connected, I wish I could get them to input the TC through the USB-C port.

Will this work with a canon 80d ? Using the the audio 3.5mm and LTC of course. I was a bit confused and the for atom and ninja. Than you
Asked by: Jeffrey
The Canon 80D does not have a Clean HDMI output for use with an Atomos Ninja recorder. You may be able to sync it up with this, but this product is designed for use with an Atomos Recording Monitor.

You can also adapt the TC output on the Ultrasync to stereo mini plug and stripe the Timecode as audio onto any camera that doesnt have a TC input. Your editing software must support TC on audio (for example Davinci Resolve does this)

I am trying to timecode sync my ultrasync one to my atomos Ninja V and I can't find the instructions. The one that clips on to the back is now discontinued. How can I sync it up? Please help.

The Atomos CONNECT Network, Wireless & SDI Expansion for NINJA V/V+ (BH #ATOMCON003 • MFR #ATOMCON003) allows you to timecode sync the Ninja V and replaces the discontinued Atomos AtomX SYNC module.

From what distance can a ONE be paired/sync with a BLUE? Both units specs say they support RF Range Up to 656' / 200m. So this?
Asked by: E
The Atomos UltraSync ONE can pair and sync with Atomos UltraSync BLUE using their RF network, and because both support up to about 656 ft (200 m) line‐of‐sight RF range, that is the practical maximum distance they can maintain sync between one another.

If I have a MixPre 6 II attached to the UltraSynch-1, can the UltraSynch-1 act as a master and provide timecode to the new Atomos X Control accessory attached to the Ninja V+?
Asked by: Marshall
The MixPre 6II (and the 3II and 10II) has a very accurate timecode generator built in. You can jam that to the UltraSync, and it should stay true until you power it down. Then simply jam it again. You don't need to tie up an UltraSync for the MixPre.
