Canon BG-R10 Reviews

Essential for a pro

I considered some 3rd party battery grips, but there are always some caveats like missing weather sealing or power drain when camera is off. For a professional I think it's essential to have the reliability of canon OEM. I also like that you can charge two batteries if you plug in the camera via usb-C.

Will the BG-R10 be compatible with the new EOS R5II, and the new LP-E6p battery?
Asked by: Ross
The Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip is not compatible with the Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera, B&H # CAER52. The Canon LP-E6NP will work in the BGR10. If you want a grip for the R5 II, you need the Canon BG-R20 Battery Grip, B&H # CABGR20.

On the back of the grip there are 2 low charge indicators, aren't they supposed to light up when the charge is low?
Asked by: Joseph
The lights on the back of the Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip do not show a low charge level. The lights light up when charging the batteries in the grip with the USB power adapter. When charging is complete, the lights will turn off.

Roughly how many hours of battery time do you get using this device when ONLY taking photos? (no video).
Asked by: Bob
Given it's highly dependant on multiple factors such as, which camera it is, if you use the Electronic Viewfinder often or not, the screen brightness, if you have power saving options disabled or enabled. Assuming you're using it, exactly how it came when you received it, it would be anywhere around 700-900 shots. Which can be over 9 hours of shooting approximately.

I didn't aware its warranty as I use in Hong Kong, I rarely heard battery grip has issues even with more than 100,000 shots so I do not think warranty is an matter.
