APC AP8831 Overview

Expand your power options with the AP8831 10-Outlet Metered Zero RU 2G Rack PDU (15A, 100-120V) from APC. Designed to provide active metering, this power distribution unit uses one NEMA 5-15P input connection and sports 10 NEMA 5-15R outlets. An RJ12 serial and RJ45 Base-T Ethernet port provide interfacing options, while a USB Type-A port can be used to deploy firmware upgrades via a flash drive. Network sharing ports are also present, as is a networking port for use with the optional APC Temp and Humidity Sensor. Alongside simple controls, this PDU's interface panel also includes LEDs for status conditions, including warning and overload indicators.

Users can define the alarms to suit preferred parameters, and each outlet features dedicated metering. Featuring a load capacity of 1440VA, this PDU delivers 100 to 120V at 15A. Designed to be installed vertically on racks or enclosures, the APC AP8831 comes with mounting hardware and a serial configuration cable. This power distribution unit features a 9.8' power cord.

Remote Management Capabilities
Network management interfaces provide standards-based management via web, SNMP, and Telnet. Allows users to access, configure, and manage units from remote locations to save valuable time. Associated with this feature is the ability to quickly and easily upgrade the firmware via network download to installed units for future product enhancements.

Local Current Monitoring Display
The aggregate current draw per rack PDU is displayed on the unit via a digital display. The local digital display helps installers avoid overloaded circuits by providing a visible warning when the current draw is close to the maximum amperage draw of the strip.
Load Indicator LED
Indicates overload and warning conditions based on the user-defined alarm thresholds. Alerts users of potential overloaded circuits.
Alarm Thresholds
Define alarm thresholds in order to avoid overloaded circuits. Network and visual alarms inform the user of possible problems.
Input and Output Connections
Product family includes a variety of input and output connections to distribute 120V, 208V, or 230V power to multiple outlets. Having a variety of inputs and outputs allow users to adapt to varying power requirements.

These work great when space in your cabinet is a premium. And the metering capabilities are great when you're monitoring how well these are working

A Handy 1/2 Height PDU for Tight Spaces!

This is a very compact PDU which is perfect for those applications that don’t require or allow a full 72” ZeroU device. Being only 35.5” in height, it can be much easier to install in tight spaces! Each of the (10) NEMA 5-15R outputs is metered for current monitoring, with a 2nd generation, bright blue LCD display for easy readability. A NEMA 5-15P input connector makes everything simple to install. This is a nice PDU for simple applications!
