Point Source Audio CM-i3 Reviews

Good headsets

I was using a Clear-Com CC-220 for live sports broadcastings because of its light weight and compact size. Also it is comfortable during summer time because it is over the ear type.I still love it. However due to its over-the ear-design, I sometimes had hard times in communication with people in trucks in loud music and crowd environment. So I decided to buy earphones type headsets. A lot of my friends use Camheadsets. It is good because you can use your own earphones. But I wanted to try something different, so I chose Point Source. It's good fit and works great in the noisy environment. Only downside is that cable length is a bit short (maybe another 1 feet or so needed) and I found it a little tight on my head. Although it has a cushion on both side where it touches on your cheek, still kinda hurt if you wear it for 5, 6 hours. I am bit concerned about its cable coming out from the back of your head. It doesn't seem to protect well. I think that I need to be careful when I store the headsets, otherwise cable might be damaged just like iPhone charging cable. Other than those, it is pretty good. Mic is securely on the same spot not like Camheadset one. (You need to adjust the mic angle all the time for other people to be able to listen to you.) So over all I give 4 stars.

Perfect When Clear Communications Are Needed!

I purchased this Intercom Headset to use with our system at church. I really like how I could use my custom in ear monitors with this headset and how comfortable it is to wear. On Christmas Eve, I had this on for over 10 hours as I directed two rehearsals and three services. The stage captain, executive producer, and video director all commented on how clear the audio was from the microphone. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this sooner!

CIEMs have the MMCX connector, you can simply snap them on. If they use a different type of connector then you'll want to remove and replace the whole cable assembly.

Asked by: Christopher
In a nutshell, CM-i3-PH has a dynamic microphone which is passive and therefore does not need bias power (or phantom power.)
