This is such an amazing SSD. I use it almost every time I shoot on set, and it pairs super well with my BMPCC6k!

Mac users: Be aware

While I appreciate the price, size, and speed of the devices, I encountered an issue on the first day of testing as the device unexpectedly disconnected twice without a clear cause. Upon consulting with B&H's staff, I discovered that a number of these SSDs have been facing malfunctions, especially with larger capacities and iOS systems, for a considerable duration.

Data LOST

I used this to hold data for a wedding that I filmed. I had this SSD for less than a month, I formatted the SSD when I needed to, but for some reason the SSD could not be read. After switching cables, the SSD does not have any of the footage from the wedding. I looked on Reddit and other individuals have had this problem with this exact SSD. Data wiped for no reason. Will be returning.

Beware, don't buy the Sandisk SSD's. They are infected by a bug, Sandisk has partially acknowledged the issue. They released firmware for some as well. I had 2 SSD's both stopped working on just on the same day just like that, lost all of data, spent $'s unsuccessfully to recover data, Sandisk customer service was not helpful at all, I spent days trying to find my data from old backup but I still lost last 3 years of data since when I started using these SSD's. never going back to Sandisk SSD, there are other options in the market.

I am using a MacBook Pro 2019 running on macOS Monterey, and I am trying to format the SSD as ExFat. It is not working and taking forever to erase, and it has been showing the erasing screen for over an hour. Is there something I am doing wrong?
Asked by: Raphael H.
I suggest that you call Apple Support at 800-275-2273 Apple Support staff are awesome at walking you thru the formatting process. It does not matter that it is a 3rd party drive, nor does it matter that your Apple Care may have expired. They will help you with this regardless of these things, as long as you are the registered owner of your Mac.

Is it normal for this thing to heat up? I just got one and after an hour of editing, it is pretty hot to the touch. I just want to make sure this is normal and not a malfunction.
Asked by: Joe
I suppose it depends on how much read/write takes place on the SSD. Mine will be warm but not hot. I use for Time Machine backup so that's just once an hour. I really don't test for temp.
