SeaLife SPORTDIVER Overview

Snap photos and shoot video of the action below the surface with the SeaLife SportDiver Underwater Housing for Smartphones. Compatible with most iPhone and Android smartphones, the housing operates your phone's camera via Bluetooth, with the SportDiver app providing automatic or manual control of advanced camera settings. The housing protects your phone in two ways: a vacuum pump that verifies the integrity of the seal before you dive, and a moisture detector that will alert you in the unlikely event of a leak during the dive. Large shutter and control buttons make the housing easy to use even if you're wearing dive gloves, and the clear back panel shows you the phone's entire screen. Three 1/4"-20 sockets on the bottom of the housing allow it to mount on a tray or tripod.

I've been shooting underwater since the early 80's, starting with the Nikonos 2 and currently using the Canon 5Dsr in a aquatica housing. I bought this to play around with when I was just doing a few dives and didn't want to lug 150 lbs of gear, and it absolutely blew me away. I added a bracket and small video light and the results with my iphone 15 rival most of what the housing does. Last month I let my wife (a non photographer) play with it while diving in Mexico and the results were astounding. It's relatively small and when shooting macro uw I clip this to my BCD in case something big comes by, which last time was a whale shark swimming over us. Absolutely indespensible for the uw photographer and worth every penny. I'd suggest adding a bracket and video light to bring the full spectrum of color out and ditching the red filter

I am headed to do some snorkeling and I wanted to do some photography. But, I did not want to use my Sony a7R-IV. Rather, I did not want anything bulky and wanted to use my iPhone. I saw this on B&H. This housing is a very high quality product which is connected to the phone via Bluetooth. You operate the camera through an App. I like the quality materials and the leak detection system. It fits all recent iPhones and most Androids. The photos and video were fine.

SeaLife SportDiver Underwater Housing for Smartphones already includes a color correction filter in the box. It is most effective in blue water at depth less than 50 feet.

Yes, one can take pictures with the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max in the SeaLife SportDiver Underwater Housing for Smartphones without any additional lighting. Though as you go deeper underwater you will lose light and additional lighting will be necessary.
