For the Canon c80 and c400, is there any disadvantage to using this product vs. Canon's PL to RF Lens Mount Adapter?

The DZOFilm Octopus Lens Adapter (PL to Canon RF) does not contain any electronics in order to be compatible with Cooke /i metadata. The Canon PL to RF Lens Mount Adapter for EOS C400 is also custom built for the cameras and has additional mounting for extra support on the camera.

No, the DZOFilm Octopus Lens Adapter does not require shims for the mount that it is attaching to. Cinema lenses will either come with or require shims to be purchased separately.

I need to mount a PL lens, specifically the DZOfilm Pictor 20-55mm lens to the Red Komoto. Will this adapter work? and is there anything else I need?

The DZOFilm PL Lens to Canon RF-Mount Adapter will mount the DZOFilm Pictor 20 to 55mm to a RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF). You will need a base plate, 15mm rods and a lens support bracket to support this large, heavy lens. You will also will want to consider a follow focus, a zoom motor, and a matte box with filters and sunshade.
