Poor design = tough assembly

I ordered some of these male XLR connectors because there were not enough available from a different brand (American Recorder). Compared to American Recorder, assembling these took 3-4 times as long. This design is incredibly frustrating, as the screws provided to mount the back to the housing are just loose in the bag, so they’re incredibly easy to lose. Additionally, these screws are tiny. Cable techniques does not provide an Allen wrench or cheap driver of any kind to help with assembly, and I simply don’t have any tool so small too ensure this is properly secured. I will never by this product again from this company. If you’re reading this, skip Cable Techniques and use American Recorder instead. American Recorder includes and Allen wrench and puts the screws in the housing, meaning you just have to tighten them. It’s a quality of life improvement that can’t be understated. This product from Cable Techniques borders on unusable. If you lose both screws, you’re toast.

I bought these with high hopes. They look great and work electrically, but the fit is so tight that they scraped the gold plating off my CMC64s, which my Neutrik XLR connectors have never done.
