CAME-TV JX300B Reviews
Good for price & portability
Purchased this for an in-studio job while in NYC. Needed a dolly that allowed for long dolly shots (more than a Dana Dolly can typically do) but was easy to use without a crew. This dolly worked well for that. The primary reason I'm giving it only 4-stars is because the magnetic joints did not stay connected very well and I was constantly having to reconnect them. And any movement of the dolly track required reassembly of the tracks. This process was a bit tedious. Got to the point where I started using Gaffers Tape on the underside to keep the joints connected. Otherwise the unit was great for what I needed!
Good for what it is
This system has a lot of clever ideas with it but it is limited in use. It works great on a smooth surface but an uneven floor or outdoors this is going to be an issue. Very fast setup which is a real plus. But... the dolly isn't made for professional tripods, only low end prosumer ones. To use a Sachtler or such, the legs need to be zip tied to the dolly. While curved track can make some moves a lot smoother when rotating around a subject, these curves form too tight of a circle. The center of the radius is only about 6 feet or less in front of the camera. Great for tabletop but for interviews/on-camera talent, that radius is too tight thus defeating the advantage of curved track. So, good for what it is, but limited in what it can do.
