With a length of 4' and T12 compatibility, the PavoTube II 30X 2-Light Kit from Nanlite is an efficient solution for both photo and video lighting. The kit contains two tube lights with AC adapters, mounting clips, and a bag for storage and transport. Not just fun to use, each tube light outputs up to 746 lux at 3.3' (5600K) and offers professional color, control, and power features to make it a valuable asset for anyone. It has an expansive CCT color range of 2700 to 12,000K to handle any ambient light situation or match other fixtures and full spectrum RGB that gives you access to millions of colors and hues to fit your requirements.

The 30X runs on an internal, rechargeable battery that gives you 1.5 hours of runtime at full power while being completely untethered. Full battery recharge is achieved in 3 hours and 30 minutes via its included power supply, which can also power the PavoTube II 30X during longer shoots. You can easily control the tube's functions onboard or wirelessly via DMX, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth using the free NANLINK app.

Color and Effects
The PavoTube II 30X features 0 to 100% dimming, an average CRI of 97 and TLCI of 98, and adjustable color temperature from 2700 to 12,000K with green/magenta adjustment. In addition, it comes with multiple lighting effects to conveniently help you achieve different creative looks.
  • Practical effects include hue loop, CCT loop, INT loop, CCT flash, hue flash, CCT pulse, hue pulse, storm, police car, TV, paparazzi, candle, fire, disco, bad bulb, firework, explosion, and welding.
  • Pixel-based effects include hue loop, CCT loop, INT loop, multi-color, gradient, scrolling, marching, flame, rainbow, and driving.
Second Generation LED and Control
The PavoTube II tube lights are the second generation of Nanlite's signature light fixtures. They have been refined based on feedback from creators around the globe with features including DMX compatibility and enhanced app control. Control is also possible via the brand's separately available WS-RC-C2 remote.
Robust Metal Housing and Mounting
Upgraded metal housing makes worrying about an accidental drop or risky light placements a thing of the past. Three incorporated 1/4"-20 receivers expand mounting options. It also includes T12 clips for convenient vertical or horizontal mounting.

Awesome but not perfect

They are very good, and I think superior to everything I tried (Falcon / Amaran / Godox). except astera. (I don't have enough experience with titan tubes to tell all about it though). The main problem I have with these tubes is the battery and its indicator. The indicator often fails to accurately predict when the battery will run out, which is unreliable. As a result, I cannot be certain when my tube will turn off, which is inconvenient during a shoot. Because of that, many times I try to use less tubes and then replace those which go off. I would also suggest charging them on set if possible. The app could be more user-friendly. It requires a special USB-C disk on key to work and update the firmware. It's not expensive, but I had to buy it separately for the firmware update. The case it comes with is fine but I would like a hard case for such things. So I will be less scared of this breaking. The Astera Titan tubes include a hard case, but you will have to pay a significantly higher price. Another thing is the pixels can stuck on the pixel moving modes, and they are generally slower, it is not working fast like in astera but again - you get what you paid for, and most of us don't care about it that much. In most of the use cases the nanlite feels just like astera to me.

For their form factor, these lights are powerful. There are so many functions and ranges of colors that it may take me months before I hit on a use for all of them. However, I intend to make them the workhorse for my new filming enterprise. The I can't wait to really put these lights to use. The controls and the app are easy to use and the interface is clear. Make these part of your kit!

TWO WARRANTY CALLS in first year! (Quality control?!)

I bought these lights less than a year ago, after seeing/reading positive reviews. Within a few months, one tube displayed patches of color in HSI mode (color should be uniform across tube). I sent the tube to Nanlite US for service, at my expense, and they sent me a new replacement. Within the same year, my second Pavotube's menu screen died/doesn't light up... so I will have to send it in again. I don't recommend these lights as they are not reliable. If you are considering these lights, factor in the additional cost of shipping back for warranty service.

You should update the firmware!

I bought these for DMX control. I was having a lot of issues, until I tried updating the firmware to the latest version. They fixed a *ton* of issues between the version it shipped with and the newest version. Easy to upgrade - just put the new firmware file on a USB drive and plug it into the light. 16 bit color temp control + RGB is now working flawlessly. Documentation is a little sparse, but I was able to figure it out with enttec NMU. One thing I'm a little worried about is how hot these things get at 100% brightness. It can't be good for the batteries. Running them at 70% keeps them at a more reasonable temperature.

These are almost perfect, I understand these are a budget version of the titan tubes, and these can do everything they can do. Such a beautiful, and perfectly diffused tube, my only complaint. When using my tubes for longer times, they can sometimes overheat. The metal casing makes them super durable, but can ever heat easier. Still recommend, they are incredible!!

Have used the tubes several times in the first week of owning them and have been very impressed with them. Solid build, long lasting internal batteries, and very user friendly menu system. Love them!

I was making a rigging for suspending four of the tubes and discovered they are actually 43 long not 48 as advertised. Very pleased with the PavoTube II 30X so far, but I've only had them for a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how long they hold up.

It is not fun being on a music video set and having these go bad. Unfortunately I am just a few days past my 30 day return policy so looks like I am out $800. I didn't do anything to damage them, just turned them on and certain sections went bad. Never had issues with other brands. Not a fan...

Do these tubes have the latest update or should each user update it? I ask you because there are problems between these tubes with the APP Nanlink and in the forums they recommend an update and for this you need a cable from port C male to USB 3.1 female port that is purchased separately.

Its usually best to check to see if the item features the latest firmware, but mass majority of inventory ships out with the latest firmware updates.
