Building on the laurels of the B10, Profoto pushes the envelope still further for photographers and videographers with the B10X OCF Flash Head, which has shortened the recycling time to just 1.3 seconds at full power over a 10-stop power range. The flash is also TTL and High Speed Sync capable and its continuous LED modeling light is powerful (10,000 lux with an OCF Magnum reflector) enough to shoot video with the same camera that you use to shoot stills. In fact, you can vary the color temperature from 3000 to 6500K, and its high CRI of 90-96 is your assurance of accurate color reproduction. Additionally, the battery will give you 65 minutes run time at full power.

Profoto B10X Overview

Building on the laurels of the B10, Profoto pushes the envelope still further for photographers and videographers with the B10X OCF Flash Head, which has shortened the recycling time to just 1.3 seconds at full power over a 10-stop power range. The flash is also TTL and High Speed Sync capable and its continuous LED modeling light is powerful (10,000 lux with an OCF Magnum reflector) enough to shoot video with the same camera that you use to shoot stills. In fact, you can vary the color temperature from 3000 to 6500K, and its high CRI of 90-96 is your assurance of accurate color reproduction. Additionally, the battery will give you 65 minutes run time at full power.

Another outstanding feature is the multitude of triggering options. The flash has a built-in AirX receiver with a range of 330' with the purchase of a dedicated remote transmitter and 90' using Bluetooth devices like your smartphone.

    I have used Profoto for about four years. I find them to be very reliable. I like the B10's and B10x's because they are small and still have great power (250 Watts). They are very easy to use and set up with Profoto's remote. I don't need 500 Watts for what I shoot. I can't really say anything bad about them. If you are serious about lighting I believe this is the one to buy. The B10X Duo kit comes with a nice backpack. It is well made and gives ample protection for your lighting investment.

    Compact size and robust battery. Easy to add a few of these to your camera bag without needing to haul a second bag. I also purchased a second rubber cap to protect the rear display. I've seen some cracked displays on the forums. I wish the modeling light had a kelvin dial instead of just a blue/orange dial that you have to eyeball. One check against is the non-user replaceable flash tube. Profoto has evidently decided to prioritize making more money off each user than having a truly professional strobe that can have a flash tube replaced by the user in the field.

    I have lots of Profoto lights, but this might be my favorite...easy for my assistants to carry and is often enough light...I carry the 500 watt very heavy B1Xs for super sunny situations, but this can manage almost everything

    No. The unit offers no sync ports. The following unit offers a built-In radio and bluetooth release system.

    Both the B10x and B10x Plus can run plugged in. It will charge the battery and trickle charge once the battery is full.
