ASUS PA329CV Reviews

Works great out of the box

I looked at a few other options and this one promised to be the least amount of hassle and it really is. Worth noting that the USB-c dock worked immediately with my windows laptop for work but not my Mac laptop for home. Mainly I'm using it with a high end windows desktop for Revit, Bluebeam, and watching videos. High enough resolution that I can have bluebeam open on half the screen while watching twitch or YouTube on the other half without either being too small. This is my secondary monitor.

Overall good product with accurate color

It is an overall good product with accurate color, given the low price of this class. Nothing to complain, except for the on-off switch on the back with no instruction to turn it on. If it has the front on-off switch already, the back on-off switch is over kill. In fact I was freak out that the monitor went black when I turn on the front switch.

Not the perfect monitor, but oh so close!

Fantastic monitor with very few cons. First I'll start with the only issues I have with this monitor. It didn't want to play nice with my ZenBook Pro Duo laptop, but I think that was mostly an issue with my laptop. The biggest gripe is with how slow this monitor is to switch inputs or simply wake up. During testing when trying to figure out why my laptop was having problems, I needed to switch inputs frequently and test various cables and methods of connecting the two. Sometimes it would be easier and quicker to completely turn the monitor off and back on with the main power switch to force it to give me the option to switch inputs. Also, the buttons feel less than premium to say the least and the onscreen menu is clunky at best. Everything else about the monitor is AWESOME. There's no proper way to wall mount it included in the box, but if you have long screws, it will easily mount up. The included desk mount arm is also a plus if you'd prefer mounting that way. Viewing 4K HDR content is absolutely mind-blowing on this monitor. Everything looks like it is about to jump off the monitor and into your lap. I have no way to verify, but the colors look very accurate to me. This monitor also comes with a sheet detailing the exact calibration for the unit before it leaves the factory, so that's cool. Basically, if you're looking to up your game when it comes to viewing content, just buy this monitor and be happy!

Beautiful, but USB-C faulty

Like the other reviews you see here say, the USB-c port won't work for Mac users. I tried calling, emailing, online chatting, and the result is that there's just a compatibility issue with macs that ASUS decided not to mention anywhere. There is a firmware update that supposably helps with USB-c compatibility but you can only run the update on a windows computer, lol. I gave it two stars because the display is quite beautiful. Rich, accurate, sharp. The HDMI works fine, but it's a huge bummer to not have access to the capabilities of the USB-c charging/data streaming that ASUS promises. Definitely still usable as a monitor, but it's disappointing to spend this much and still miss out on key features Do better ASUS.

Good monitor with great color

Great color right out of the box. I have not needed to calibrate them yet. With a couple of settings adjusted to the lighting in my office and color grade that I use the images match the color cards I use on shoots. I had no issues out of the box and it was easy to set up and get started. I do kind of wish that the monitors came with a built in driver software cache so set would be a bit faster, but not a terrible hassle either way.

Need to update firmware before you can use Type-C

Everything is perfect except that you have to follow their official document to update the firmware so that you can connect to mac via type c. Doc here https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1045839

What is the difference between the PA329CV and the PA329C? Can't seem to find what the V stands for or why this one is $200 cheaper.
Asked by: Paul
The previous statement by B&H is false. Going direct to Asus's website for each the PA329CV & PA329C, both monitors support 100% sRGB and both are geared towards photographers. The reason for the extra cost of the PA329C is around the extra features; 100% AdobeRGB, hardware 14bit LUT table, & perhaps the slightly elevated HDR certification of HDR600. I would say the biggest reason to go for the PA329C over the PA329CV is if you care about hardware calibration.
