I got the OM-1 after having other Olympus cameras. So I got their extra battery and charger. I expect to be happy with the hardware and get many good years of use. The camera comes with a charger plug and USB cable. These are used to power this charger. That's right, this charger has no adapter/charger plug thing. It uses the one that came with the camera that you already have. What you're getting for $200.00+ is a plastic box that the batteries go into so that the charger and cable THAT CAME WITH THE CAMERA can charge them. It's plastic, not metal. If I drop it, it may break. So is it worth $200.00+? I'm not sure yet. Does the electricity flow into the battery better with this plastic box than another? I don't know. So, on the one hand it works, but on the other hand I feel "led on" and ripped off, kinda'. The way it's presented feels more like "gotcha!" than "fabulous purchase." But it does work.

Can the AC Adapter that ships with the Panasonic G9 be used to power the SBCX-1 charger?
No, the charger on the OM SYSTEM SBCX-1 Lithium-Ion Battery and Charger Kit has an USB type C port while Panasonic DMW-BTC13 Battery Charger provided with the Panasonic Lumix G9 Mirrorless Camera has a micro usb port, therefore the cable included with this unit is not compatible with OM SYSTEM SBCX-1 charger.

The Olympus BH-1 Battery had a opaque hard plastic case to store the battery in. It also had a window that would signify if the battery is full or empty. Do the new SBCX-1 battery come with any type of hard storage case to protect the battery?
The SBCX-1 battery and charger kit come with the charger and battery in separate packaging. The OM BH-1 battery does come with that semi-opaque hard case with battery window like you mentioned.

The AC adapter and USB cable are not included with the purchase of the OM SYSTEM SBCX-1 Lithium-Ion Battery and Charger Kit; only the battery charger and one (1) OM SYSTEM BLX-1 Lithium-Ion Battery are included with its purchase. As such, you may purchase the OM SYSTEM F-7AC USB-AC Adapter, B&H # OMF7AC, and the OM SYSTEM F-7AC USB-AC Adapter, B&H # OMF7AC, as separate accessories.
