Elgato Wave XLR Overview

The black Wave XLR from Elgato is a compact USB Type-C audio interface with a single XLR input and mic preamp designed for recording, podcasting, and streaming to Mac and Windows computers at a 24-bit resolution with a choice of 48 or 96 kHz sampling rates. The elegant space-saving design uses a single multifunction knob to control the microphone gain, phantom-power switch, headphone volume, and the monitor blend between the mic input and playback from your computer.

The ultralow-noise preamp provides up to 75 dB of clean gain for your mic signal, and a capacitive mute switch is conveniently placed on the top/rear of the inferface. A long press on the control knob activates 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. The 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring is located on the rear of the unit, beside the USB port and XLR input. Multiple faceplate options are available separately in a variety of color choices to add a little visual flair to the interface.

Plenty of Power
Give your mic the boost it needs without an external preamp. Up to 75 dB of ultralow-noise gain makes notoriously insensitive dynamic mics sound loud and clear, while 48 volts of phantom power bring condenser mics to life.
Get Amped without Clipping
You don't need to watch levels while live, nor attempt to salvage distorted audio in post production. When input levels peak, proprietary Clipguard technology instantly reroutes sound through a second signal path at a lower volume, the result is clean audio output, no matter how loud you scream.
Switchable Low-Cut Filters
Dual selectable filters at 80 and 120 Hz let you remove low frequencies, especially helpful if your recording up close to the mic.

Intuitive software custom built for content creation, Wave Link gives you ultimate control of your Twitch stream, YouTube video, or podcast audio. Independent input channels let you blend sources such as game audio, voice chat, music, alerts, samples, and more in real time. I bought this on release just about. Be very careful what you wish for. The software is a replacement for things like Voicemeeter, however the software is HIGHLY unstable. I've had so many issues that you then need to reddit the answers for and requires you to go into your actual system settings to fix. For example. Blasting Spotify through ''music channel'' on the Wave Link. But it only outputs 5% to OBS. So there's no way for music to come through. Also it tends to not link correctly to the streamdeck. So the added benefit of using your streamdeck to control volumes, is not always functioning. This could have been a true game changer, but due to the software instability, it's at most unreliable a lot of the times. Apart from that, it's a good product and does what it needs to do most of the times.
