HP MFP 4101fdw Overview

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw features print, scan, copy, and fax functions and is designed for teams of up to 10 users. Featuring built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB connectivity, the 4101fdw is a wireless all-in-one machine that can also be tethered to the network. Print management for your enterprise can be centralized. One or more units can be managed from a single dashboard. You can also manage your security settings. There are preconfigured settings right out of the box, plus you can add a layer of security, set configuration policies, and validate settings. Additionally, a PIN/pull option authenticates your print jobs only when you're present.

A free-download HP Smart app for iOS and Android puts productivity in the palm of your hand. The app allows you to print, scan, and get time-saving shortcuts for common tasks. The 4101fdw offers up to 1200 x 1200 dpi print and scan resolution, and 600 x 600 dpi copy resolution. It supports automatic two-sided printing, single-pass two-sided scanning, and two-sided copying. It has a 100-sheet multipurpose tray, 250-sheet standard input tray, and 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning. It also supports flatbed scanning. An optional 550-sheet third tray can also be added.

The 4101fdw comes with a starter toner cartridge. Supported replacement cartridges include the HP 148A Black Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge (2900 pages) and the 148X Black Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge (9500 pages).

This is my 3rd HP Laser jet printer over the last 12 years. These printers are a workhorse. The HP Laser jet Pro MFP 4101fdw wireless printer is easy to use and prints beautiful, clear copies.

Printer Yes! Scanning meh...not so good

Good, but it has a major fault. I installed this unit and while it has a compact design and looks presentable, it has a major fault at least for my use. I bought this printer because I needed the multi function feature of scanning to a network folder. So far this is not to be. I have tried different configurations as suggested by the online community and "experts" but nothing has worked. I had originally bought a different model for my home office but that one would not scan to a network folder even though I tried different configurations. That operation system was on windows 10, so I ended up buying a different brand. Now back to my main office, what with microsoft not supporting windows 10 anymore I bought a new computer with windows 11 installed and also bought my current model 4310 mfp printer. Again I have no scanning to network folder capabilities even though I tried everything through the embedded web server. This really puts me in a bind you would think that HP would have real experts on hand to help you through this. But so far I have only found so called help on the HP forum. I shouldn't have to now buy a separate scanner to accomplish what I need to do. Otherwise it's a decent printer, but the scanning capabilities are abysmal.

Yes, the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw All-in-One Monochrome Wireless Printer BH #HE4101FDW can do both single or dual sided printing. By default, it is always single sided unless you specifically choose duplex.

This model Number doesn't require the HP+ Account. It can be setup and configured without an HP account correct?

It is possible to setup and configure the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw All-in-One Monochrome Wireless Printer without an HP+ account. But it is best to have a HP account to register for the warranty and use the HP Smart App.

If I only print about 50 pages per month, will the toner become unusable even if it still have a lot of ink left inside?

Yes, the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw All-in-One Monochrome Wireless Printer (BH #HE4101FDW) will be usable even if your usage is low.
