Tilta TA-T16-FCC Overview

Add protection and accessories to your Sony FX3 or FX30 digital cinema camera with this lightweight and modular Camera Cage V2 from Tilta. This updated model offers the option of full cage protection or a lighter-weight half cage suitable for gimbal use by removing its side L-bracket. The titanium gray aluminum cage maintains access to the camera's controls and features a removable NATO top plate that enables the use of the original XLR top handle or another handle.

Use the cage to mount a variety of accessories using the top plate NATO rail, the shoe mount, and the 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads with anti-twist locating pins. The cage also features an integrated Arca-style base for quick mounting onto tripod heads and gimbal mounts. It can be used in both horizontal and vertical orientations and also features a right-side handgrip, an HDMI cable clamp, and strap slots for an optional wrist or neck strap.

Modular Design
The cage can be configured for both full cage protection and a lighter-weight half cage form for gimbal use. The top module is individually removable and is compatible with the original XLR audio handle. The L-Bracket is removable and can be used as a half cage.
Multiple Accessory Mounts
Accessory-mounting options include a NATO rail, a shoe mount, as well as 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins. The bottom of the camera cage features an Arca-type design for quick installation onto baseplates and gimbals.
Mounting Security
The camera body can be secured via three mounting screws on the left, right, and bottom. The included cable clamp prevents pulling or disconnecting, and it mounts with a thumbscrew.

Great update - this is what it should have been

This cage improves upon the V1 which I've used the past several years with the FX3. The inclusion of the HDMI clamp is a nice addition. The small design adjustment on the top plate is nice - it actually has a little bit more room so it's not as difficult to screw on as the previous version - you had to be extremely exact, otherwise the screws would get caught and was frustrating. There's also a small adjustment to the built in Arca plate on the bottom - there's a small notch in it now, which corresponds to the baseplate riser/receiver as a backup locking pin. All in all, a great update which solves a few of the annoyances I listed above.

Yes, the removable top plate of the Tilta Full Camera Cage V2 for Sony FX3 & FX30 allows for the use of the Sony XLR-H1 XLR Handle Unit on the Sony FX3/FX30.

Would this cage work with the MOFAGE POCO PL-mount adapter (with the VND filter), incl. the Tilta PL-mount lens adapter support?

Tilta Full Camera Cage V2 for Sony FX3 & FX30 (Titanium Gray) will not inhibited the use of the MOFAGE POCO Drop-In Filter Lens Mount Adapter Kit (Sony E to PL), however you will not be able to pair the Tilta EF-Mount Lens Adapter Support for Sony FX3/FX30 V2 Cages (Black) with the setup, as it would get in the way of the lens adapters built in support.

Yes, you can attach a NATO rail to the bottom of the Tilta Full Camera Cage V2 for Sony FX3 & FX30 (Black) to mount a side handle for vertical shooting; the cage has several 1/4"-20 and one 3/8"-16 mounting threads on the bottom.
