Never assume a product will be what you expect. My other grips purchase from another manufacture all have two battery slots which adds to camera/battery life with big jobs. I was surprised finding out the panasonic grip only has one. My fault for not reading all specs for the product but for the price, beef it up panasonic.

Bought the G9ii as an upgrade to the GH5 and got this grip to go along with it. I have to say, it's not very chunky and feels quite small in the hand. The GH5 battery grip has a much, much better feel with better rubberization and larger grip profile to make it fit and stay in the hand much more comfortably. I bought this because I need it, but I'm honestly not impressed.

More of a question than a reply, BUT didn’t firmware update 2.7 make the Lumix S5 compatible with the DMW-BG1, as per Panasonic themselves on their website https://help.na.panasonic.com/answers/dc-s5-firmware-updates-improvements ; to be fair this update is dated a few weeks after theses answers.

No, the Panasonic DMW-BG1 Battery Grip is not compatible with the Panasonic Lumix GH7 Mirrorless Camera (BH #PADCGH7B).

No, the Panasonic DMW-BG1 Battery Grip (B&H# PADMWBG1) does not fit the Lumix S1 II Mirrorless Camera (B&H# PADCS1M2). Rather, the Panasonic Lumix S1 II Mirrorless Camera (B&H# PADCS1M2) and also the Panasonic Lumix S1R II Mirrorless Camera (B&H# PADCS1R2) use the Panasonic DMW-BG2 Battery Grip (B&H# PADMWBG2). Its use enhances vertical shooting comfort and also extends battery life by accommodating an additional Panasonic DMW-BLK22 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2V, 2200mAh) (B&H# PADMWBLK22).
