Panasonic DVD-S700M Overview

The Panasonic DVD-S700M Region-Free DVD Player supports playback of DVDs, CDs, and content stored on USB drives. The DVD-S700M is region free to play DVD discs from all countries. However, the AC power input is 120VAC at 60Hz.

This DVD player offers high-quality progressive scan playback via its HDMI output. The HDMI output also supports CEC, which allows it to power on, or be powered on by HDMI-CEC-enabled devices, such as televisions. The DVD-S700's composite video and stereo RCA outputs allow you to make analog audio and video connections to non-HD displays and audio components; an RCA audio/video cable is included. With a width of 12.3", this DVD player was designed to have a small footprint.

Multi-Region Compatibility
This Blu-ray player is an original Panasonic player that has been expertly modified by a third-party vendor to make it region-free and able to play on NTSC and PAL televisions. Please see the included documentation for instructions on how to change regions to match your media.
Power Resume
The power resume feature automatically creates and stores the chapter mark on certain intervals during playback of the contents in order to playback from the latest chapter marked when resumed from power supply problems. There may be about a 10-second difference from the actual point where the power was cut off.
USB Connectivity
The front panel USB port supports the playback of JPEG and MP3 files. It also has a Photo Slide Show mode for showcasing your stored photographs.

Very satisfied with this purchase. Has a Great picture. I really that like when you insert a DVD into the player, the TV goes on and right to whatever is on the dvd. With out having to go through a lot of steps.

region glitches on this modified dvd player

First off lesson learned, the panasonic warranty excludes modified devices - which this device is modified B&H finally admitted. B&H sells a S700P-K and scratches off the P-K. That is what makes it a S700M. And the 'region free' sticker that someone put on the box. no other docs will say region free. When I first received the device it played other regions, and here and there of course it played region 1 north america, then I came across a region 1 that came over with a region error screen instead of loading. so I checked about 40 discs, and three of them had the same problem - for region 1 north america - which makes no sense. The discs are ok because they play in a samsung region free that I have as well as a single region S500. Just for kicks I got the exact same S700P-K off of amazon. All accesories docs and markings,, including the identical 'region free' sticker, were the same. And the exact same odd ball problem. wouldn't play all usa region 1 discs. Same mod vendor same problem See attached for the warranty problem. Don't know how B&H says this is covered by warranty

Will this unit play DVD Video disks from the UK ( PAL region 2 ) ?

I played a region 2 set on this dvd player and it worked fine. WARNING: A few of your region 1 (north america/USA) will not play , =they= will give a region error! Read the reviews there is a couple of customers come across this problem as did I. It don't make no sense but there you have it.
