Ubiquiti USW-ULTRA-60W Overview

Designed for high versatility, the compact Ubiquiti Ultra 60W Managed Network Switch discreetly mounts onto a desktop or wall to operate powered devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, and access points. Seven of its Gigabit Ethernet ports support up to 30W PoE+ output with a total budget of 52W when using the included 60W AC power adapter. Alternatively, connecting the PoE++ input to a compatible power source provides a 42W budget.

With a 16 Gb/s (8 Gb/s non-blocking) switching capacity, this Layer 2 switch provides smooth and reliable data transfers. Its fanless design allows it to operate silently in the background of your office.

    Definitely Purchase the version with the Power Adapter

    I initially purchased the version without the Power Adatper (so the unit relies on the power it receives from the PoE cable) and had attached a UniFi WiFi AP to it. However, my WiFi AP was only delivering 20 Mb/s. Then I realized that the limited output power coming out of the switch was a shortcoming. Now this powered version has allowed me to attach a UniFi WiFi AP to it and get much better bandwidth (300+ Mb/s)

    Yes, the PoE++ in port on this Ubiquiti Ultra 60W 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Network Switch is used to power the switch. The PoE budget for the other ports will vary depending on how the switch is powered. The available power budget will be: PoE++ input: 42W PoE+ input: 16W 60W PoE adapter input: 42W 60W AC adapter input: 52W 210W AC adapter input: 202W
