The Canon V1 does NOT come with any form of battery charger. You can get cheaper chargers that charge the battery while out of the camera, but this leaves on the battery to power the camera during extended sessions. The PD-E2 powers the V1 while the camera is on, allowing users to run extended live streams, etc without worrying about losing power. When the V1 is turned off, the battery charges. This all works fine, but $150 for this is extortion. This product should cost about $30-$35. This is the charger you should get if you want to get the most out of the V1.
