Is the USB cable proprietary or can you use a longer off-the-shelf USB-C cable?
Asked by: Steve
The Blackmagic Design PYXIS Monitor Kit's included USB-C cable is proprietary, however, you can use other USB-C cables should you need a replacement or longer cable. If you do get a different cable, make sure that it is USB 3.1 or newer, and you should also make sure that it supports display information. A good way to be sure of compatibility would be to get a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 cable, as they are more standardized than USB and will be compatible.
