FiiO BTR17 Overview

Experience outstanding audio quality on the go with the FiiO BTR17, a portable Bluetooth DAC and headphone amplifier that features dual integrated DACs that deliver a refined, detailed, and articulate listening experience, even when listening to music over Bluetooth. At the heart of the BTR17 is the dual ES9069Q DAC chips, which handle sample rates and resolutions up to 768 kHz / 32-bit. This DAC is housed alongside the Qualcomm QCC5181 Bluetooth chip to provide support for Bluetooth 5.4, as well as Bluetooth aptX and SBC.

The patented Desktop mode features an independent power supply, which boosts performance considerably. The enclosure provides ample protection, as well as a space-age 3D aesthetic that not only looks great, but is easy to handle. The built-in rechargeable battery lasts for up to ten hours, ensuring you can listen to music wirelessly for a long time. The BRE17 includes a leatherette case and a specially-made short dual USB-C OTG data cable.

Patented Desktop Mode
The BTR17 features a dedicated Desktop mode switch along with a dedicated USB-C port to connect an external independent power supply. In Desktop mode, you can connect the BTR17 to a phone as a dongle DAC and headphone amplifier. This method of connection provides considerable performance boosts and will keep the internal battery charged.
High-Precision Lossless Parametric EQ
The BTR17 features a high-precision lossless parametric equalizer (PEQ). The continuously refined proprietary PEQ adjustment algorithms allow you to finely adjust EQ and frequency points, gain bandwidth, and Q value to your liking.
Dual Cores and Four Channel ESS DACs
Inside the BTR17 are tow ESS ES9069Q DACs based on fourth-generation 32-bit HyperStream architecture, achieving high performance while using less power. The architecture helps to further reduce digital noise within the DAC, allowing it to hit 103dB dynamic range and -120 dB total harmonic distortion, resulting in a richer, musical sound against a clean audio background.
THX AAA 78+ Headphone Amplifier
The BTR17 uses the THX AAA 78+ headphone amplifier, the same amp used in the renowned FiiO KA17 and M23. The four-channel fully balanced design utilizes eight op-amps in parallel to ensure robust yet controlled power, for a clearer and more natural sound.
Multi-Stage HiFi Audio Architecture
The BTR17 integrated mid-to-high-end HiFi player-level signal processing within its compact body. Digital signals are deftly handled by the dual-clock digital audio and DAC. LPF preamplification and multi-stage analog audio processing ensure details and the dynamic range within audio signals are precisely restored, comparable to premium digital audio players.
Comprehensive Protection Circuits
Built-in temperature and DC output detection prevents damage to the device and headphones if abnormal conditions are detected for safer usage. Volume limit prevents accidental loud volumes and protects against hearing damage.
All New User Interface
The new UI made possible by the 1.3" IPS color screen supports both Chinese and English displays. The font color even changes along with the audio format. The overall design ensures the user can intuitively use it and easily grasp its current status.

Small And Good Looking! Takes Some Tweaking On My DT770's. Out Of The Box It Was Clipping My DT's Like Crazy. At 48 Ohms I Had To Adjust The Gain And The EQ For Different Music Genres. After That And A Learning Curve, All Is Well. It Will Definitely Push Higher Ohm Headphones.

First Portable DAC

Please take with grain of salt as I'm not a audiophile but just a basic consumer who dosnt like to keep rebuyimg airpods when batteries give up. Got these and wired ear pods from apple so i dont have to keep rebuying when battery is out of life. So far great. I do use a Jds Labs Element 4 DAC for desktop (mainly to power my HD 650 and Sennheiser mk2 (forgot the middle name) (but it's mark 2 that dosnt need high impedance) Anyways. Compared to that DAC, the FiiO is neutral sounding while the Element is More earthy warm sound. But it does have EQ to fix it if you don't like it, although due to being scared of messing it up, i just leave it on default and use it as a Bluetooth for my HD 650 (usually volume 22 needed so plenty power) and airpods. Noticed when using this for my car it sounds more bass and refined than my cheap Amazon Bluetooth to aux converter but i wouldn't say it's a NEED IT for that case if you have stock speakers. Besides that i would still buy again, nice to not rely on Bluetooth battery dieing after a couple years anymore.

The FiiO BTR17 Portable Bluetooth DAC and Headphone Amplifier and the FiiO BTR15 Portable Bluetooth DAC and Headphone Amplifier both use the same DAC chip. The BTR17 is a larger size and it has a larger IPS color display, as well as a more powerful headphone amp, a higher USB DAC sampling rate with a lower noise level, and a higher capacity battery. It also features desktop mode support and CTIA mic and in-line control, which the BTR15 does not provide, Users report the bass sound of the BTR17 to be punchier than that of the BTR15.
