Does not pass signal

Connecting this cable between a Dell laptop and a CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 hub doesn't work. The cable does pass power but no data connection. The computer won't see the hub at all. Laptop and hub work perfectly fine with other brand Thunderbolt 3 cables.
NOT TB3 for Mac/BMD Ultrastudio 4k

This cable, while well built, does NOT support TB3 connection between an M1 Mac and Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4k Mini, specifically. I have not tried it on other thunderbolt specific devices. Cable does pass power to charge the computer, but does not connect otherwise. OWC TB3/4 cables work fine in the same setup.
