MSI B860 TOMAHAWK WiFi Overview

Enjoy smooth gaming and content creation performance by including the MSI MAG B860 TOMAHAWK WIFI LGA 1851 ATX Motherboard in your next build. Supporting the LGA 1851 socket and B860 chipset, you can install an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor and customize the performance to fit your needs.

Designed to help simplify builds, MSI's EZ technology makes it easy to install one M.2 PCIe 5.0 SSD and two PCIe 4.0 drives to store your games library, applications, and important files. Four DDR5 DIMM slots are available for up to 256GB of memory, which may be overclocked for higher performance. With one PCIe 5.0 x16, one PCIe 4.0 x4, and one PCIe 4.0 x1 slot, you can add multiple graphics cards and other compatible expansions.

The rear panel features one Thunderbolt 4 port that can transfer up to 40 Gb/s with compatible devices or connect a USB-C compatible 8K display. There is also one USB-C and four USB-A ports that work with 10 Gb/s devices, and four USB 2.0 ports for peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and webcams. An internal header allows you to use a 10 Gb/s USB-C port on the front panel. Built-in Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) support and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port provide you with connections to compatible network devices for smooth video streaming and low-latency online games. Windows 11 64-bit is required to take advantage of all the motherboard's features.

EZ Installation
EZ M.2 Clip II
MSI's EZ M.2 CLIP II makes SSD installation seamless. Insert the SSD into the M.2 slot and press it down to lock it in place with the clip. Flicking the clip outward lets you remove the SSD. Use the EZ M.2 Clip II remover tool to detach or reposition the clip on the motherboard.
EZ PCIe Release
An easy-to-access physical button release mechanism helps to remove any PCIe card with a single tap, making it easier to upgrade to a new GPU or other compatible device.
Flash BIOS
Flash the BIOS with only a connected power supply and a flash drive. No CPU or memory required.

    Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS)
    Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) are safety devices used to protect against excessive voltage. All MSI motherboards are equipped with TVS. When the voltage abnormally rises, the TVS switches from a high-resistance state to a low-resistance state, diverting the excessive voltage to ground. This helps prevent circuit damage caused by high voltage.

    Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) introduces higher speeds, wider channels, improved efficiency, and reduced latency over Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), with maximum speeds of up to 5.8 Gb/s.
