Unit Setup easy, ISP not so easy

Purchased this to swap out a business account Xfinity cable modem. Hardest part was trying to get a ticket initiated with Xfinity as tech support assistance is required to swap in the UCI. In this area (suburb of Philadelphia) you cannot use Xfinity's setup link to do this. You need tech support to confirm your modem choice and program the MAC address into the Xfinity system. Note that Xfinity does not allow customer owned cable modem/router all-in-one units. You have to purchase both a cable modem and a router. Modem connected to Xfinity with no issue, once tech configured at the Xfinity end, but you need to depend on the unit's mini display to see what's happening as there is no way to connect to it while it is configuring itself. Once connected to internet, the Unifi Gateway Lite router automatic connection and adoption was a little quirky but eventually worked. I chose the Gateway Lite because it was cheap and I only had a handful of devices (access control and camera) connected to it at this location. So I'm a satisfied user so far. Everything is viewable via the Unifi portal.

Good, Solid, High End DOCSIS 3.2 Cable Modem

I Recently Switched From AT&T DSL To Comcast Xfinity For My Internet Service Provider (ISP). I Bought This Modem Because I Didn’t Want To Pay A Monthly Cable Modem Rental Fee, Comcast Listed It As Compatible With Xfinity, And It Looked Like A Good, Solid Commercial Duty Modem. It Can Be Configured For Mounting In A Rack, But It Can Sit On A Table Top Just As Well. There Are A Few Diagnostic Options That Can Be Accessed From The There Is One RG6 F Type Coaxial Input Jack And One RJ45 Ethernet Output Jack. Power Comes From A Standard C14 Computer Power Cable. It Can Run On 120 Or 240 Volts AC. There Is A 1.5” X 1.5” Touch Screen That Can Be Used To Access Diagnostic Information. There Are No LEDs Or Other Indicator Lights. Configuration (aka “provisioning”) Has To Be Done By Your ISP Using The MAC Address Of The Modem. There Is Otherwise Nothing To Configure. You Initiate Your Comcast Service Request Via The Comcast Website. I Used My Ipad Connected Via Cellular. I Spent About One Hour On The Phone With The Comcast Customer Service Technician (CAT) “provisioning” The Modem Which Seems To Work Very Well. BEWARE: The CST Will Try To Upsell You Services That You Did Sign Up For. After Two Weeks Of Use, The Modem Seems To Be Working Very Well.
