This light replaces an old 1000 watt halogen dinosaur that we threw out about a decade ago. It is Smaller, lighter, and more easily operated and maneuvered than the old follow spot. We have it set up on a balcony at least 50 feet from the stage and it is plenty bright at the distance. The focus controls are easy to use, and the iris allows the spot to be the size I need it for large or intimate moments.

Love the CTO filter!

We've had the Chauvet 75st for years. Our throw distance is about 50 ft, so they are okayish without other stage lights on. And of course the only real white like option is very cool and bluish. NOW...we've upgraded to the 200st and so far I really like them. The CTO filter creates a nice warm white without much lumen loss. Anytime we tried to put a gel on the 75st, it just killed the intensity. The output is much more appropriate for our 50ft throw. The only thing I still need to figure out is getting a correct library profile for our Eos console. I haven't had time to write by own, so we just made do with the 75st profile. They currently don't have one to download on their website. It operates just like the 75 and is very easy to move. Very helpful when we have kids that are learning. I wish there was another way to blackout the manual buttons when in DMX mode, but a stern "Don't touch these buttons." seems to work for now. Anyway! Highly recommend for school shows and community theater shows.
