This hybrid camera features a 2.4mm f/2 lens and a 1/5" CMOS sensor that can capture 4.9MP photos which you can store on a microSD card. Using the camera's 3" TFT LCD, view photos you've taken and print your favorites. Alternatively, transfer your pictures from your camera to your smartphone and share them digitally using the Leica FOTOS App.

Easy to Share
Designed with selfies and social media in mind, the SOFORT 2 features a second release button on the front of the camera next to its built-in flash. The camera's wide-angle lens provides a 28mm full frame equivalency that's useful for group photos as well as landscapes. With the Leica FOTOS app, you can seamlessly transfer the photos you capture to your smartphone for sharing. Additionally, you can select photos in your Leica gallery that weren't taken on your SOFORT 2 and print them using the camera.
Personalize Your Photos
Built into the SOFORT 2 are various film styles and effects that allow for more creative photography including double exposure, fisheye, soft focus, retro, monochrome, vivid, and many others.
Customization
Accompanying the SOFORT 2 is its own color film which comes in neo gold and warm white. Lecia has also introduced numerous accessories for the camera including a wrist strap, carry strap, hip and cross-body bags, magnet frame, and more.

This is a fun camera, but....

I've been using this camera for a couple of weeks now and have to say that it is fun! Especially if you're with a group of people. BUT, the description clearly states that you can seamlessly transfer photos from the camera to your phone - which you cannot. The only pictures that you can transfer to your phone are ones that you have printed. The alternative is to use a micro SD card reader and transfer them to your computer. You can, however, easily print images taken with your phone using this camera. Customer service at B&H was very helpful and was able to confirm this situation. That being said, know that for a lesser price the Fuji Instax Mini Evo is exactly the same.

Nice camera with plenty of gimmicks and controls. In my experience, better than similar Fuji models and better than the Russian knockoffs.

For film processing, can the camera determine if images are b/w or color, etc. or is that done by the film?

The Leica SOFORT 2 will print color photos if you are using color film. However, since it can also save the image to a memory card, you can reprint later in B&W from a computer printer.

Leica doesn't mention what's the largest memory card it can support but a 1GB microSD-memory card will hold around 850 photos so a 16 GB micro SD will be sufficient.
