High capacity, fast and incredibly small. Formatted easily. Used it to build a clean install of Mac Sonoma, and using it now as my boot drive on my Mac Mini with a far too small internal drive. Works great. Starts up quickly, data transfers fast, clones are fast. Great drive. Unfortunate the prices of drives have skyrocketed, but that's the timeline we're living in. This is a great drive.

I have experimented with several 8TB brands -- they are all or most incredibly fast. Hard to return to other formats. But also a tad dangerous. What happens if suddenly a 8TB drive goes dead -- I have had that happen with smaller sizes, out of my fifty SSD cards? My suggestion: always think about back-ups. Maybe on a slower and cheaper format, BUT backups! I did return another brand, also 8TB for technical snags. Now I hold my breath and hope for the best. I would buy quite a few more when price comes down. Arnold
