BOOX Go 7 Reviews
Challenging to use/navigate
the device was purchased for a senior citizen who is an avid reader, but no longer able to go the library. These ISSUES were what I experienced before giving it to her. 1) The library connectivity was adequate but ONLY after searching online and using AI for assistance. 2) Powering on is challenging because the power button needs to be held for what feels to be longer than usual. 3) The device is an awkward size, it is difficult to hold the device until it powers on. 4) There is no way to clear the homescreen so all settings are always visible. 5) The battery depletes RAPIDLY which is contradictory to published information.
Not worth it
I primarily purchased to use for online reading at O'Reilly Learning, but find the built in Neobrowser doesn't work with their site at all. The screen is really small and the icons are not intuitive. For the cost, I would have thought it would be halfway useful, but this thing is not user friendly. I guess all the praise comes from peeps that already own and are upgrading their reader, but I don't have the patience to deal with nonsense. The half page user manual points you the settings on the device, but when you figure out how to get there, it requires a wifi download. Takes a lot of patience just to get there. I'd be returning had I not already thrown the box away. Nothing is clear at all.
