The Replacement foot has a hinge for installation as does the Nikon collar. Leofoto failed to understand this hinge requires additional material around the hinge pin to create a strong joint. Note the Nikon original and other third-party manufactures understood this and added material around the hinge pin. I would not trust Leofotos foot with the 5-pound lens and either a 2- or 3 pound camera hanging from a strap or even attached to a tripod when carrying the tripod over my shoulder. I am returning with concerns of cracking around this hinge pin and failing.

I know this foot is specifically made for the Z180-600mm but why is it not compatible with the Z 100-400mm?
The Leofoto Replacement Foot for NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens is not compatible with the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens due to design differences in their respective lens collar/foot mounting mechanisms.
