A versatile upgrade for lens stability, the Leofoto Replacement Foot is specifically designed for the Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR lens. Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, it has an integrated Arca-type dovetail for compatibility with a wide range of quick release clamps and tripod heads. Using the 3/8"-16 or 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole, the foot attaches to the lens's rear tube via the collar and locking knob. A PVC lining allows for smooth rotation without damaging your lens. A textured silicone grip improves handling, while dual safety stop screws on the base prevent accidental release. The built-in Quick Detach (QD) socket supports fast and secure strap attachment.

Changing the foot took a few minutes. The new foot is far more convenient than the original Nikon foot that was non-standard for attaching to tripods or monopods.

There were many complaints when the original Nikkor Z 180-500 lens foot was found to be too short. This was absolutely true when paired to my new PH-10 Gimbal Head. Upon replacement It fit perfectly and securely. Additionally it fits my hand much better when using a Black Rapid strap or attaching to a Cotton carrier. Well worth it!

I know this foot is specifically made for the Z180-600mm but why is it not compatible with the Z 100-400mm?

The Leofoto Replacement Foot for NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens is not compatible with the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens due to design differences in their respective lens collar/foot mounting mechanisms.
