ASUS X870E EXTREME Overview

Outfit your computer build for high performance with the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X870E EXTREME WIFI AM5 ATX Motherboard as the foundation. Designed for immersive entertainment and demanding creative workflows, this ATX motherboard supports AMD 7000, 8000, and 9000 series desktop processors with the AM5 socket and may be equipped to smoothly handle creative applications and AI workloads.

Depending on the processor, you can install up to three M.2 PCIe 5.0 SSDs. Two more M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs may be added using the included DIMM.2 adapter, and there are four SATA III connectors, providing you with plenty of space to store your games library, applications, and multimedia files. The four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 256GB at 9000 MT/s overclocked speeds. With two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, you can install powerful graphics cards and other compatible expansions.

The rear panel features two USB4 ports that can transfer up to 40 Gb/s with compatible devices or used to connect USB-C compatible 4K displays. There are also two 10 Gb/s compatible USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports alongside eight USB-A ports. Internal headers allow you to connect one front panel 20 Gb/s USB-C port and one 10 Gb/s USB-C port. There are also two USB 5 Gb/s and two USB 2.0 headers that each support four additional USB ports. Built-in Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) support and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port provide you with connections to compatible network devices for smooth video streaming and low-latency online games. Windows 11 is required to take advantage of all this motherboard's features.

A differential-sensing circuit and delicate IC simplify overclocking and tuning by allowing you to accurately track voltages.
