XREAL One Pro AR Overview

Enhance your real world life with virtual workspaces and big screen entertainment by using the One Pro AR Glasses from XREAL. Fitted with their self-developed X1 spatial computing chip, XREAL manages to run AR experiences with full HD resolution and ultra-low 3ms latency. They've also been designed to be comfortable and look great while doing it. Watch movies and game on a virtual 171" spatial screen with a 32:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio that's ideal for multitasking. All of the action happens right behind the sunglass frame, on 0.55" Micro-OLED Sony displays. These displays have been certified by TUV Rheinland for comfort and fidelity, delivering high-quality visuals that seamlessly blend with built-in immersive spatial audio engineered by Bose.

High-Quality Display
Together with the X1 chip, the Sony Micro-OLED displays are able to create a virtual 171" spatial screen with a wide 57° field of view in full HD 1080p resolution. The displays offer 700 nits of brightness, a flicker-free 120Hz refresh rate, and low blue light with 100% UV protection for minimized eye strain. From watching sports and streaming video to high-end gaming, the XREAL One Pro glasses cover all of your entertainment needs.
Screen Modes
  • Anchor: For a more traditional viewing experience, you can fix, or anchor, the virtual display anywhere in 3D space.
  • Follow: For a more natural experience, have the screen gently follow your gaze to help eliminate motion blur as you move your head.
  • Ultra-Wide: Multitask more efficiently or simply take in a breathtaking visual by creating an ultra-wide, curved screen up to 310".
  • Side View: Shrink your screen and move it off to the side as you do things in the real world. It's a great screen mode for watching sports, news, and streaming content as you do chores around the house or commute to work.
Sound by Bose
Watching your own private big screen display is nothing without high-quality audio to match it. This is why XREAL partnered with Bose to get acoustic components with a sound chamber designed specifically for AR glasses. All of which are professionally tuned by Bose engineers. The result is balance, clarity, and realism in everything you hear; from movies, games, or phone calls.

The system accommodates phone calls, online meetings, and chats with an integrated microphone that can also create stereo audio recordings. Uplink noise reduction technology helps to transmit your voice clearly and naturally, even in noisy environments.

Ergonomically Designed
In order to use AR glasses all day, they need to be as comfortable as possible. To provide comfort, the XREAL One Pro offers three-point template adjustment of +/- 3.5°, includes nose pads in three different sizes, provides an improved temple angle, and features spring hinges. The hinges work to keep the glasses secure without adding unwanted pressure.
Fully Adjustable
Different adjustments let you tailor the XREAL One Pro glasses to you and your surroundings. These medium-sized glasses let you manually adjust the IPD between 57mm to 66mm to achieve a clear and focused image. Select Clear, Shade, or Theater mode to change lens transparency to match your real world setting. You can even change the color to improve immersion and produce a true-to-life result.
On-Frame Control
A discreet on-frame button array lets you control all settings without an app, such as changing the screen mode, brightness adjustment, lens transparency, color settings, 2D/3D, and image distance and size.
Certified Quality
The XREAL One Pro has achieved multiple TUV Rheinland certifications for quality and comfort, such as Color Accuracy, High Visibility, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Eye Comfort.

XREAL One Pro AR Reviews

A great personal video monitor with some potential

I bought these glasses because I want something portable to watch movies and TV series while in transit, for example, on long air travel. I do not play games or need these for productivity; I cannot understand how people can type on a keyboard while wearing these glasses. I see some potential for AR applications with the One Pro if you add the camera option. The image has a nice resolution, but there is some slight chromatic aberration on the sides, depending on where you glance. Keep in mind that the maximum resolution is 1080P HD. If you use already a video monitor that is larger than 1080P, mirroring will reduce its resolution to 1080P; so you will not be able to see as many items as with a larger resolution on your monitor. You can, of course, extend monitors instead of mirroring; this way your One Pro will display a separate 1080P monitor, and you will keep the original monitor's resolution. I cannot prove this, but it seems to me that sometimes the video is not always running fluidly. I tried the new "Real 3D" feature that transform 2D images and video to 3D. It's working, but it feels still in Beta, as there are numerous artifacts in the image; I guess it will improve with newer firmware. The XReal One Pro glasses use a dedicated processor called X1 that enable 3D and also anchoring the image (3DOF) at one place; this processor might bring new AR features in the future. These glasses use a flat prism for the screens that reduces external reflections (mostly from the bottom) although there is still a bit of glare at the bottom of the screens. The One Pro are comfortable, but they emit a bit of heat, mostly at the top. According to the claims, they provide the equivalent of a 171" large image as seen from about 4 meters (12ft) In reality, because of the lack of perspective, it feels more like a big image in front of your eyes. And anchoring the image, will result in clipping the image when you move your head because of the limited angle (57 deg.). Future glasses will probably provide larger angles, resulting in a better big screen illusion. Of course, using a VR headset instead of the One Pro, will provide a complete realistic immersion, but they are still bulky compared to the XReal offering. The big weakness of the One Pro is the limited quality and volume of the integrated Bose speakers; most of the time, I need to crank the volume to the max. Using the glasses in a noisy environment, such as an airplane, you would absolutely need a pair of headphones or earbuds with ANC. Overall, I like the image quality of the glasses for viewing video, my main objective. On the market, they represent probably one of the best options for now.
