The Zoom TCA-1 Timecode Adapter is designed to remove one of the biggest bottlenecks in production—syncing audio and video. By adding precise timecode functionality to compatible Zoom recorders, the TCA-1 helps creators move faster on set and in post, reducing setup time and eliminating the need for manual alignment.
Faster Setup, Fewer Headaches on Set
With direct connection to your recorder's Remote port, the TCA-1 integrates quickly into your existing rig. The 3.5mm TRS timecode input/output makes it easy to sync with cameras, external generators, and slates, so your entire system can be aligned in seconds instead of minutes.
Stay Locked In Across Long Shoots
Built around a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), the TCA-1 maintains accuracy within 0.5 frames over 24 hours. That means fewer re-syncs during the day and greater confidence that everything will stay aligned, even during extended takes or multi-camera productions.
Cleaner Postproduction, Less Manual Work
Consistent, reliable timecode simplifies your editing workflow by keeping audio and video automatically aligned. Instead of spending time matching waveforms or fixing drift, you can move straight into editing, speeding up turnaround and reducing the chance of sync errors.
Flexible Compatibility with Zoom Recorders
The TCA-1 works with a range of Zoom recorders, including the H6studio, H5studio, H6essential, H4essential, H2essential, and F3 (firmware updates required), making it a practical upgrade for creators looking to expand their workflow without replacing their existing gear.
Just tested the Zoom TCA-1 in several real event productions and I’m seriously impressed. The ability to embed reliable timecode directly into the audio files makes post-production so much faster and cleaner. Sync has been rock solid so far, and the setup is incredibly simple. Definitely a great tool for any professional video workflow!
Funciona perfectamente 😎✌️

What would I need to have my zoom f3 timecode sync
What would I need to have my zoom f3 timecode synch with my nikon z6iii?
Asked by: Stephen
The simplest way to connect the Zoom TCA-1 Timecode Adapter to the Nikon Z6 III would be with a basic 3.5mm cable from the output of the TCA-1 to the Mic input on the camera. You can capture the timecode from the Zoom F3 as audio and then convert it to metadata via editing software like DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere.

would this work with a Zoom H6 Handy recorder?
Asked by: Connor
The Zoom TCA-1 Timecode Adapter is compatible with the Zoom H6studio (v1.50 or later) and the Zoom H6essential (v3.30 or later). The H6 Handy Recorder is not listed among the supported models, so it will not work with the TCA‐1.

Does the TCA-1 need to stay plugged in during recording to keep the time? Could I jam sync my devices before I record and then remove the tca-1 from the H5-Studio?
Asked by: Thomas
After you use the Zoom TCA-1 Timecode Adapter to jam sync, you don't have to keep it connected.
