Great for productivity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ViewFinity S8 monitor has been an excellent choice so far. With its impressive 5k 27-inch screen, it’s a powerhouse for productivity. I use it daily for work, and it’s a significant upgrade from the 24-inch 1080p monitors provided by my job. For reference, this monitor boasts a whopping 218 PPI compared to the 92 PPI of my previous monitor. Text is exceptionally sharp and easy to read, regardless of the distance I sit from the screen. I can work through spreadsheets, code, and watch videos much better than before. For my use case, I connect either my work laptop or Mac mini directly to the monitor via the USB-C port. This is incredibly convenient, especially since it charges my laptop and allows me to connect peripherals like a webcam, keyboard, mouse, microphone, headphones, and more directly to the monitor. This eliminates the need to reconnect my accessories when switching between devices. Despite the convenience, I still prefer having two monitors, so I often use it daisy-chained as my secondary monitor (the first monitor has a USB-C in and a USB-C out port). Windows occasionally encounters some issues with this setup, but I’ve found it easy to resolve by cycling through “USB-C Preference” in the settings menu. Unfortunately, the ViewFinity’s productivity and media consumption capabilities are where its benefits end. The screen’s resolution is unfortunately limited to 60Hz, making it unsuitable for high-end gaming. However, 1440p scaling with 5k is excellent, so running games at that resolution is a great experience. If you don’t need a USB-C port and gaming is a must, the Odyssey G8 offers a 5K display but at a higher refresh rate of 180Hz. ` Lastly, the build quality of the ViewFinity is somewhat disappointing. It’s predominantly made of plastic and has a noticeable amount of flex. The ports also shift slightly when plugged in with cables or peripherals. While this may be a minor inconvenience, it’s a worthwhile tradeoff if the monitor is priced accordingly. I also appreciate that it features height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot functionality. This allows me to position the monitor vertically or horizontally depending on the task at hand. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor to anyone seeking an excellent productivity monitor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Samsung 27" ViewFinity s8 5K High Resolution monitor! It is the perfect size for working from home as it allows me to have multiple windows and tabs open at the same time without having to switch back and forth or minimize. In the past I used 2 monitors and, while I thought this was the most efficient, I always felt like I was losing where I was. The clarity of the display is unparalleled. It has a 5K resolution (5120 x 2880) with a high pixel density which provides 77% more pixels than 4K. I use a lot of photos and videos as part of my Travel Agent business and when I look at some of the photos of the hotels I'm booking, I feel like I am there the picture appears so real! I find I'm turning into a Samsung household with every new electronic purchase!
