Keep the radio on your belt and your hands on your work. The V1-10180 2-Wire Palm Microphone from Otto Engineering is a black, clip-on speaker microphone, which allows you to talk and listen without reaching for your radio. It features a 5.8' coiled cable.

Earpiece detaches and prone to falling out

There are cheaper versions of this available that are just as good. At this price point, it should come with a better fitting molded earpiece, and it should come securely assembled out of the box and work perfectly, but the clear audio tube that connects the ear piece to the wire needs to be attached, and it doesn't assemble securely very easily. I did my best to jam it in, but on my first day of using this, the tube detached while I was walking and fell on the ground and was lost along with the molded silicon tip I purchased separately as an upgrade to the basic mushroom tip earpiece this comes with.

I use these about 3 days every week. They seem to last a year and then i have to buy a new one. I have bought a couple of other models to see if I can get more use but have come back to this model as it is definately the best.

Will this work with a Midland GXT100 VP4? I was hoping there was some kind of standard for these plugs.

I do not have my Midland's within sight so I'm not sure of the model although I should because I go thru a ton of them. I can absolutely tell you that the wrist model set I bought as seen in this photo DID NOT WORK with the Midland walkies I have. Some are two pin and some are one, my model only works with the one pin. I have found that the descriptions on the web pages do not match what actually works when you have the units in front of you. We caught the last screw up literally as we were deploying and had to scramble to be functional. This was AFTER the tech on line confirmed that they should work together. Pretty hard to get a two pin into a one pin hole... E.
