The Link Electronics 812-OP/J is a Closed Caption Decoder, Source ID and XDS Ratings Monitor for the NTSC and PAL systems. It can decode all standard line 21 closed caption data, add up to 13 lines of alphanumeric characters for source ID and processes V-Chip information displaying the appropriate ratings "icon".
Data Channels
Nine standard data channels are supported by the 812-OP/J: Captions channels 1 to 4 (CC1-CC4), Text channels 1 to 4 (T1-T4) and Extended Data Services (XDS).
V-Chip
This unit is V-Chip compatible, therefore does not let the closed caption signal interfere with the V chip information.
Source ID
This unit can add up to 13 lines of alphanumeric characters to its video input signal. Characters are added by using an RS-232 interface or a simple two-button front panel menu.
Differential Input
A complementary differential input amplifier assures high common mode rejection while its phase-linear keyer cleanly inserts decoded characters into the video image.
Rack Card
A rack card configuration means this unit will fit into a rack frame with other devices, therefore saving studio space. This card works in the SPG-812 chassis.
