A-188 Desktop Microphone Stand is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive, and versatile mic stand. I purchased 2 of these to keep in my audio bag. These come in handy for press conferences. I place the mic on the podium with a wireless transmitter. Works great! I also like the fact that the height is adjustable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and Compact Compact and easy to use, these aren't as tiny as other mini tabletop stands, but they're small enough. The adjustable height is a big plus, they come with a cheapie clip and these seem to be well constructed. None of the metal or hinges feels too cheap. These fit perfectly into my little gear bag and make dragging around cumbersome table top stands for events a non-issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent but didn't fit my Mic I bought this stand to use with my Behringer Ultravoice XM8500. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find the clip was too small to hold the mic properly, (I could only get it over the very end of the mic before it would go no further), and I couldn't use the clip that came with my microphone because it didn't fit (the screw threads on top of this stand are way to wide to fit). However, the problems are more about me buying the wrong thing than this being a bad product. For the right sized mic, it's stable and does its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value I use this stand recording weather forecasts (mp3 files) into a laptop computer. Mic movement can cause undesirable results, so a mic stand was necessary and needed to be portable for travel. A solid product, does not appear to be very breakable. Looking forward to years of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy portable mike stand I have several uses for this stand. Interviews conducted using a standard mike; on-location/travel recording of guide voice/guitar/keyboard with my Rde xy mic. I've found the stand to be sturdy and it provides quite a bit of stability with either mic (the stand has some heft, it's not just plastic; some people might find the extra weight a bother, but it really helps stabilize the mike stand). The clip is small but I never planned to use that anyway; I just replace it with the clips that came with my mics. If you want a portable yet sturdy stand for your mic(s), this is a good one, and the price is right. B&H delivered it within 2 days of my ordering. I was surprised that it made it from NYC to Austin that quickly. B&H really have their logistics down (I've ordered quite a few things from them).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stand I used this mic stand for a roundtable interview and it did the trick. Small and easy to carry with you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great stand at a great price I use this for podcasting, and so far it has been perfect. It holds the mic just fine, and the clip has a fair amount of give to accommodate most hand-held mics. It's also very light and folds up nicely to stow if I need to take it with me. If you're using heavier studio mics, you might want to consider a heavier base, but so far this has done exactly what I need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight But Sturdy Mic Stand I needed a mic stand for video interviews. One that I could mount a shotgun mic on but was still light enough and small enought to travel with. The QuickLok A-188 fit the bill. It's three legs fold to make it streamlined so it can easily fit in my bag. The neck can raise to about 7 inches. Great piece of gear and inexpensive too.
