A professional medium sized precision ballhead, the Linhof features oversized locking knobs for secure positioning and calibrated friction control. The friction control is linear in application, unlike other products which may have a large friction control knob but very little meaningful movement upon the dial. The 42mm (1.7") top plate has both sizes of camera screws, and the 63mm (2.5") diameter base plate assures a stable platform between tripod and ballhead.

Have been using this ball head for 30 years and it still works great!
I have been using this ballhead with my Leica for more than 10 years. Superb quality, easy to use. Unfortunately, I do not have the matching Linhof quick release plate, but have been using a Novoflex cheaper alternative. I highly recommend investing in this Linhof ballhead.
