HANDY CABLE WITH SWITCH FOR ALL MY LED LIGHTS

I use these switched cables for all my Astra lights. The 16' length is VERY HANDY, as it usually eliminates the need for an extension cord to reach a wall outlet. But the biggest seller for me is if the light is positioned high, rather than needing to bring it downstick to turn the light on or off, I can just hit the switch on the cable.

Perfect replacment for Lowell Rifa cable

The switch on the original cable to my Lowell Rifa light shorted out and I thought it would be easy to buy a replacement at the local hardware store. You don't realize how difficult it is to find a long cable with a power switch until you try to buy one. I couldn't find one locally. I tried to make due with an 6-foot computer cord without a switch, which was frustrating. This Lowell cable does the job and has a nice length. A little pricey but worth the convenience. I would have given it 5 stars if the switch were more robust and the price were lower.

The new formula for the plastic head end is not heat resistant with higher wattage bulbs like the old cords were.

Does this cord have the updated lowel #5023 ...

Does this cord have the updated lowel #5023 switch or the older #4022A switch?
Asked by: Andy
The original T1-80 had a more conventional-looking rectangular switch body called the 5023. That was designed for high wattage incandescent lamps such as the Lowel Softlight2. It has been discontinued. This cable has the switch shown in the photo and is not for such high power applications. According to Lowel, this switch's model number is 1510. Yes, the Lowel T1-80 16' Power Cable, B&H # LOC16TL, would be compatible for use with the Lowel Tota-Light Tungsten Flood Light.

question

Looking for a similar power cord with the switch at the male end, not the end closest to the light? It makes no sense to have the switch next to the light fixture for when elevated on a stand, especially with a Lowel full pole extension to get some serious height, you can't reach the switch!
Asked by: Anonymous
You could always add a switch closer to the male end of the cable. Lowe's sells a heavy-duty inline switch for a couple bucks that looks and functions like the switches the older Lowel cables used to have. If you leave both switches on the cable, the light could be turned off from either one, but both switches would need to be on for the light to get power. You could also make (or have an electrician make) some short extension cords with inline switches that you could plug your lights into... same concept but you wouldn't have to cut into your Lowel cords.

question

It said that it has '6' cord with in-line switch has a USA 110-120V 3 prong grounded plug' I lived in a country with power sources 220-240v, do i need another cord adapter for that?
Asked by: Nippy
You will need either the cord with the right prong configurations for your country, or an adapter that fits between the cord and the socket. Of course the cord will not alter the voltage reaching the device, so you may or may not need a device that is both a plug and voltage adapter.
