The Impact Telescopic Collapsible Reflector Holder is ideal for mounting reflectors such as Impact, Flexfill, or Photoflex light discs up to 60" to a light stand. It mounts to any stand that has a 5/8" diameter top stud. It includes a 5/8" female stand adapter with female 3/8" and 1/4"-20 threads for stands topped with those threads.
More DetailsAlternately, it can hold a small light head to an extension of almost 3' from the center of your light stand (with the addition of a 3/8" to 5/8" adapter, not included).

Can this be centered mounted instead of used as a boom?
Yes, just loosen the clamp screw between the first and second sections, pull the second section away, and you can slide the mounting pivot and the first clamp off. Then, all you need to do is reverse them and reassemble it. It only takes a couple minutes and a Phillips screwdriver.

Is this Impact light stand (BH #IMLS8AI) able to support the holder with a 42" reflector without sandbags for indoor use? Or something Impact heavy-duty light stand is recommended?
I was able to use it without sandbags but it is a little awkward.

How wide do the clips open? I have some triangular manfrotto reflectors that have quite thick frames. Thank you.
They do not open wide. I use them with a collapsible reflector and it is difficult to open them.

Can I rotate clip 360 degrees? From the enlarged view I can see that the clip slides up and down the arm. I don't see anyway for the clips to rotate which is what I need.
It has been a while since I used the telescoping collapsible reflector holder (due to COVID-19) but as I recall when the screw at the end is loosened, the clip rotates right and left.
As I also recall, when the segment that holds the end segment of the arm that is attached to the clip is loosened, to allow the arm to collapse or extend, the end segment with the clip can rotate.
I am unable to verify this now as I am out of state and do not have access to my reflector now.

It should be OK. I use it to hold an Impact 33in. reflector with no problem.
