    Nikon 50mm f/1.4 reviews

    NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4 Lens is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great standard manual focus Nikkor lens This is an amazing manual focus lens. I use it with the FM3A camera. The sharpness is excellent, the contrast is wonderful but the thing you can't find anymore on lenses is the quality. All metal construction, creamy soft focus ring, very small and light. I am a Canon user since 1995 but Nikon did make fantastic manual focus lenses. It is hard to find these lenses now a days so a big thanks to B&H Photo for having them in stock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens I've used this lens for landscapes on my D7000 and more recently the D800e. Due to focus shift you must use Live View to achieve maximum sharpness at infinity, especially on the D800e. At f5.6-11 it is as sharp or sharper than any lens I own, including a couple of Zeiss. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens! This lens works great on my Nikon FM3A. It is very sharp and extremely well built. Focus ring is very smooth and aperture ring has nice solid clicks at every full f-stop marking. Made in Japan of only metal and glass, no plastic. Wish my modern auto-focus lenses felt this solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing lens! I picked this lens up for $ used (tantamount to stealing :P ) and I enjoy using this lens eve more than my 55-200mm. The crispness of the photos combined with the stunning color is simply amazing. And being able to stop down to f/1.4 makes for some fun low light and nighttime shooting. A must have for anyone starting out on a DSLR or looking for a good prime!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Razor sharp I use this on my Canon 5D and C300, and it's one of the best lenses I've used in terms of contrast, color, sharpness, functionality, and, of course, the price. The focus ring is buttery smooth and fun to use, and has a decent throw distance. The manual aperture ring has a knurled pattern which makes it easy to grip and turn. The lowest I usually go with this lens is f/2 but that's only to make focusing a little easier. So do not fret -- even at f/1.4 this lens is impressively sharp.
