question

will this work with a regular stand as opposed to just a c-stand? I read this: Wide compatibility with standard grip equipment; fits 5/8 baby-studs or stand top-studs and just wanted to double/triple check that this will fit the need I have.
Asked by: Jeremy
Yes it will. I regularly use my grip head on a beefy baby double riser stand.

question

With the grip head grab a 5/8 pin?I want to grab a 5/8 pin 90 degrees from a 5/8 pin.
Asked by: William L.
Yes, it will grab a 5/8 pin and also allow to place the 2nd pin at 90 degrees from the first pin. However, there is no indent for user to snap to an exact 90 degrees relative angle. The device is robust (& heavy) and will allow any angle from 0 to 180 degrees relative to first pin. An aluminum friction washer really does a good job in preventing slippage after you set the angle. If you are planning to attach it to top of the 5/8 vertical pin on a light stand, please do ensure that vertical pin is long enough to give you enough land & stability. Better if you can the pin rather than the aluminum section of your stand.
