    Audio-Technica U841A reviews

U841A Omnidirectional Condenser Boundary Microphone is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Somewhat disappointed I got this for video recording where there's more than one person speaking. This is the first time I've used a boundary microphone, so maybe my expectations were too high. I used this to record five people sitting at a conference table. Voices that were only slightly further from the microphone came out much more muffled than voices that were only slightly closer. I increased the audio gain in post production to try to level them out, but that increased the noise to an unacceptable level. The microphone also picks up all incidental environmental sounds, which I guess is to be expected with an omnidirectional microphone, but it almost seems more sensitive to extraneous sounds than it is to voices. I get much clearer voice reproduction from my AT899 lavaliere microphone, but maybe a boundary microphone can't be expected to pick up voices as clearly as a lavaliere mic. It's probably a good microphone for this type of microphone, but it apparently isn't well suited to my intended use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from reasonable product I bought this product to capture the voices of participants in our course so that people who take the course online can here the discussions. The presenter has his/her own lapel wireless mic. Our groups are about 15 people who usually sit on the floor. This microphone is not that useful for this purpose as it is still hard to here participants voices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality boundary mic really sensible boundary microphone. comes with the phantom power module and an extra length cable. bright sound really easy to use and really well done. can also be a really good compromise in sound fields recordings added to a stereo set. The filter does its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right choice for me i bought it without knowing the thing. I was really good surprised to listen to that thing. I recorded an organ and it sounded very weel.deep and clear bass when integrated to a bidirectionnal mike for an MS stereo hybridcouple
