Price was a bit high but this product had been discontinued so I guess one has to pay a premium. Product arrived quickly and in original OEM package.

question

can I use this with sony pxw-x70. is this too short??? Some thing else better than this mic.Sony ????
Asked by: tony
This mic would be compatible with the Sony PXW-X70. There are many others that would also be compatible, however the correct mic would depend on your particular needs.

question

I have a JVC GY-HM170UA camera and bought this microphone, but the camera does not recognize, all possible tests and still the same. Can anybody help me?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Panasonic AG-MC200G requires 48 volts phantom power to operate. The camera must be set to the MIC+48 setting to power the mic correctly. If you are having issues with your purchase, please feel free to contact a Sales Representative here by phone at 800-606-6969 or email [email protected] for assistance

question

Is the microphone mono or stereo?
Asked by: Anonymous
As far as I know of, it's a stereo audio output signal. Most, if not all microphones that are XLR will send a stereo output audio signal. It really depends on how you setup your camera audio output settings, or wherever you're sending the signal. We have a mono sound system setup, but the camera feed audio channel will receive the audio signal from this microphone in stereo. I hope this helps. God bless

how would this compare to MKE 600 or AT875R ?

how would this compare to MKE 600 or AT875R ?
Asked by: Evan
In terms of specifications, the three mics do have differences in the way they perform, how they are powered, as well as in their physical size and features. The Panasonic AG-MC200G Unidirectional Microphone is 6.38" (162 mm) long and has a frequency response range of 160 Hz to 20 Hz, a maximum sound pressure level of 127 dB, a sensitivity level of -40 dB at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 69 dB, and operates using phantom power. The Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone is 6.89" (175 mm) long and has a frequency response range of 90 Hz to 20 kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 127 dB, a sensitivity level of -30 dB at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 74 dB, and operates using phantom power. The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone is a longer mic that can operate using either phantom power or a single AA battery and it has a selectable low-cut filter at 100 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic. The MKE 600 is 10.08" (256 mm) long and it has a frequency response range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 132 dB when using phantom power and 126 dB when using battery, a sensitivity level of 21 mV/Pa with phantom power and 19 mV/Pa with battery power, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 79 dB with phantom power and 78 dB with battery power. The frequency response range is the output range for the audio that the mic is able to reproduce and the maximum sound pressure level is the level of the loudest sounds that the mic can reproduce. The sensitivity rating is the amount of output gain for the input (a higher negative number indicates that the mic is less sensitive than a mic with a lower negative number), and the signal-to-noise ratio is the level of the desired sound compared to the unwanted noise (a higher number indicates a stronger audio signal with less noise).

question

How is this microphone powered? I'm thinking of a microphone that I can connect to a hand-held digital recorder so that I can capture the comments from a guide in the front of a bus when I'm sitting farther back in the bus in Israel during a two week trip, and I don't think that my recorder does 48 volts.
Asked by: Post
The AG-MC200G uses +48V phantom power and feature a standard XLR output. It cannot work with a device that does not supply + 48V phantom power.

question

I have a JVC GY-HM170UA camera and bought this microphone, but the camera does not recognize, all possible tests and still the same. Can anybody help me?
Asked by: Walter
It would be difficult to determine what the issue may be. The mic requires phantom power to operate. This is provided by the camera when Input is set to the MIC+48V setting. This would be the most commonly overlooked. If you require assistance with your purchase, please feel free to email a Pro Video Representative here at [email protected] They will be best equipped to assist you.
