The B+W 58mm Clear MRC 007M Filter is a simple, clear filter with a 1x filter factor and is designed to provide general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect overall image quality while helping to reduce dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from damaging your lens. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 99.8% light transmission, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like them... I was very hesitant to purchase these filters since DSLRs don't really need filters. But from a protection standpoint -- I thought it would be easier to clean and keep clean with a baby in house potentially throwing food at the camera/lens. So I purchased them -- I went with the clear to reduce any potential distortion with the picture. So far, I have not noticed any problems. I have checked to see if there is much glare by taking pictures of lights -- and there is not orbs or glaring distortion between having a filter vs not. Definitely happy with my purchase...the only wish I had was that they would have been just a little bit cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's the only clear filter I use. I don't usually use lens hoods, so in order to keep a minimum level of protection for the outer elements, I use clear filters. This one was for my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G. As with all B+W filters, its brass with excellent glass. The multi-coating is easy to clean and very durable. I've tried a variety of other makers, including Hoya and Heliopan, but I keep returning to B+W because they offer a truly clear model (no UV) and I've never had one stick on a lens or when stacked. I can't say that for the others. Ultimately, you can't go wrong with any of the good brands with multi-coating, so it comes down to personal preference. I've just had great luck with B+W, so I stick with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made in Germany I have Canon 50mm f1,4 lens - I love it, it is my first lens. and I was started to thinking how to defend this lens from dust and I was looking for cleaning accessories and also filters. After 2 weeks searching, I was convinced that B+W is best! So, if you have cool lens, you spend many time with them and you discover that on your lens there is something not clear, it's not late! By B+W Filter!P.S. If you want to take picture or movie looking the sun or any light source, you will receive something like reflection, but in this case you can remove filter :) or maybe someone likes this effect... :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Extra Money If you have ever used the cheaper filters with aluminum bodies and can't get them apart during a photo shoot, then you'll want to spend the extra money and buy B&W. The build quality is great. Multiple filters interlock with ease and remove with ease. Unlike cameras and lights where the price variances from cheap to expensive can be daunting, a better filter price gap is not worth deep thought and consideration in my opinion and experience. Buy these and be a stress free photographer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protection without problems There is not much to say about this filter (which is a good thing if you ask me). It does its job of protecting my lens without altering how I take my photos which is my main priority. It is a bit pricier than other filters, but good construction and worry-free performance are worth it for clear filters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra clear I use this on my canon 50mm f1.4 lens. This filter does it's job to protect my lens. It has a really good construction and it is really clear. I can't tell the difference of the picture with this filter on or off. Only drawback is the price. But you will get what you paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it I bought this for my new Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. I have other B&W filters. This filter protects my lens without changing my photos. It is more expensive than other filters but worth it. I have had other filters such as HOYA and there is no question that B&W are better builds (fantastic brass ring makes a HUGE difference and excellent quality glass). Yes B&W is more expensive but there is a reason.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Glass I got this to cover my new Lomo/Zenit Petzval lens. I purchase this model because it seems to be the most neutral, and my experience with B+W products to date gives me no reason to question their reputation, or steer away from continued use of their products. I have only used the lens a bit since I acquired this filter for it, but I have been pleased with all results so far.
