    Sony BP-U30 reviews

    BP-U30 Lithium-Ion Battery is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Battery for FS5 This is the perfect battery to use on the Sony FS5 camera. It's lightweight and lasts for around 3 hours so I do recommend getting two of them to be safe. The BP-U30 doesn't put too much weight on the camera compared to other batteries when I need to get out and shoot in the field, which is really nice if you're out capturing footage for a while.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful Little Battery I use the U30 batteries in the Sony PXW-FS5. The battery is compact, light and run time is adequate, though I preferred to use the higher-capacity U60T with the built-in power tap to run accessories, but had to return them to the B&H competitor I purchased it from. Kudos to B&H for not carrying this particular battery because (PLEASE NOTE) the U60T is NOT compatible with the PXW-FS5 and resets all camera functions when attached!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good battery This battery is the same as the one that came with my Sony PMW-EX1R. Now that I have two, I can always have one battery charging while using the other. These batteries seem to discharge over time even when not attached to the camera. Overall, I prefer this battery to the larger one since it is lighter. It lasts a good while even when using the LCD screen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shooting time very low This battery has a very short life when you are using your camera for a wedding. I was very surprised to find myself running back and forth to the charger all night long swapping batteries. The plus side is that the battery recharges very fast. If you are in need of a battery that is going to last 1.5+ hours at a time I would recommend the BP-U60.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I use this battery for my Sony PMW EX-3. It is a very reliable battery. I have never ran out of power while using this product (although, my shoots are typically quick interviews). The reason I had to purchase a new battery however, was that I over-charged the old one, so be careful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what the description says Battery works a treat, i film snowboarding and skateboarding and i generally use 2 of these a day. i like the U30's because they keep the cameras weight balanced, i like the life times of the U60's and U90's...but they tend to counter balance the camera when not on a tripod.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Features I love the new sony batteries...great, long lasting power and the push to check is a welcome addition. ONE PROBLEM: My first one fell off and was lost because it didn't latch, but the camera still worked. BE CAREFUL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I use it with the EX1 to shoot documentaries. It is a great backup battery and for handheld work and stuff in tight spaces. It is a ton lighter than its big brother. Great battery.
